Bet on the Cavaliers

King James will attempt to crown himself with another NBA title. And, after last year’s defeat to this same foe, James will settle on nothing less than a crushing win. At least, that’s what he’ll be fighting for.

This year there’s something else going for him. His knights, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, will be on the court to fight along with him. If you recall, last year Love missed the entire Finals series, while Irving only played in game 1. This made James’ job a sole effort which is a titanic undertaking even for the likes of a player like James.

With Love and Irving in the fold, the Cavaliers are a different team. Stronger, meaner, and deadly-effective at winning games. Love is tit-for-tat with Klay Thompson from three point land and Irving is a fiend in driving to the basket.

If they can figure out how to put a lid, or at least limit, Curry then they’ll have more than ample opportunities to let James, Love and Irving take care of the offense. Of course, limiting Curry is key to winning any game against the Warriors.

And, with many more able players (apart from Love and Irving) in the mix, the Cavaliers may end up surprising the Warriors.

Bet on the Warriors

The Warriors proved their resolve and grit in coming back from being three games down against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In fact, Golden State has been only the 10th team in league history from achieving this.

Anyone would be hard pressed to argue, then, that this team is the one to beat at the moment. Being back in the Finals only goes to prove this. And, whether or not Curry seemed to struggle at times in that series against the Thunder, the fact is he came through for them and he’ll be ready to gun it out once again against the Cavaliers.

But, as good as Curry is, Golden State probably wouldn’t have made it this far if not for the contribution of the other half of the Splash Brothers. Klay Thompson is second to none, especially from three point land. Between Curry and Thompson, the Warriors have cut through opponents left, right and center with their shooting effectiveness.

Most likely, they’ll stick to this strategy, at least for the initial game. If it works, and Cleveland cannot shut down Golden State’s long range scoring machine, you’ll see a barrage of points from these two.
