Bet on the Warriors

The Warriors are riding high on the hog, outscoring the Cavaliers by 48 point in the first two games and that’s without much help from the league’s first ever regular season MVP, Stephen Curry. Or even without that much contribution from the other half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson.

Over the first two matches, Curry scored a combined 29 points (even sitting out on the bench for a long period in game 2) while Klay Thompson averaged points per game.

It seems like the Warriors have the Cavs’ ticket and have now won seven consecutive games against them. Though it’s unlikely they’ll sweep the series (but, not unfeasable), Golden State is pretty much playing far better than Cleveland and all they have to do is keep up this intensity to win game 3.

Bet on the Cavaliers

While everyone thought this was going to be one of the best battles in NBA recent history, the first two games’ result left much to be desired. Even if Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving have been available this year, the Cavaliers have been unable to stop the Warriors onslaught.

This isn’t to say that the Warriors can call victory; but, Cleveland is in a pretty pickle and they’re the underdog even if they’re playing on their home court tonight.

LeBron James, Love and Irving will all have to play at another level if they want to win the next two games to tie up the series. Otherwise, they’ll be in a hole that will be too tough to get out of.

Though James kept the Cavaliers close in game 2 in the first half of that game, it all went South in the second half and James sat it out for most of the fourth period because by that time it was all but over. And, it’s not as if James is not playing well, he is, but he needs to cut down on turning the ball over (he had 11 just in game 3).

Matters get even more complicated for the Cavaliers with Kevin Love possibly being out for game 3 due to a concussion suffered in the second game. This will put even more pressure on Irving and James to notch a win.
