Spurs vs. Memphis Grizzlies & Rockets vs. Warriors

We’re already into game 3 of the NBA Playoff series and every basketball betting fan should be eagerly making their picks to put some money in their pockets. To help you along, we’ve got a handful of exclusive predictions just for you…

San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies

  • Time: Friday, April 22, 2016 9:30 PM ET
  • Place: FedExForum
  • Betting Odds: San Antonio -11.5
  • Total: 181.5

Spurs Betting

The Spurs have already bagged the first two games with the audacity of the Artful Dodger. And, heading into Tennessee they have their sights set on putting the third game into their pockets.

San Antonio has the clear advantage in this series. That’s dreadfully apparent to the Grizzlies (and to everyone else). It’s likely they’ll continue forward without too much effort.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge will make sure once again to gut the Grizzlies’ defense while putting up as many points as they can in the process. Both of these players have had enormous success while on the road and this has been especially true against Memphis, whom they’ve already beaten the four times they played in the regular season.

Grizzlies Betting

The Grizzlies are a dying dog. At this point, it wouldn’t serve to continue making any further assessments of whether they may beat San Antonio. They won’t and the first two games were case in point.

Zach Randolph is already giving it all he’s got and it’s not enough. He’s not a one man show and already at the tail end of his career. Even though they’re headed back home, Memphis will still have problems scoring points over San Antonio’s superior defense.

While some would like to believe Memphis can pick up steam and extend this series, the only way that’s likely to happen is if San Antonio rests Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge all of game 3. And then, it’s still uncertain they could pull it off.

Game Predictions: Game three is a must-win for the Grizzlies. Losing this game would be the final nail in the coffin for Memphis because it would put them behind three games and no NBA team has ever climbed out of the 0-3 hole before. This Grizzlies team will not be that team, San Antonio wins.

Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors

  • Time: Thursday, April 21, 2016 9:30 PM ET
  • Place: Toyota Center
  • Betting Odds: Warriors -5.5
  • Total: 215

Rockets Betting

Though Houston did all it could to stop the Golden State’s warpath in game 2, they still lost the game. Even James Harden’s 28 points and 11 assists could not slow down the Warriors advance and this was having Stephen Curry benched.

They’re headed to Toyota Center for game 3 though and that might give the Rockets some needed motivation. If Harden can put up as many points as he did in the second game and the rest of the team pulls together, then we have a game.

That’s the rub though, for Houston to win they’ll need a full team effort to defeat the Warriors. It cannot be up to one player to win this game. Dwight Howard will have to step up, he’s only tried 17 shots through the first two games and has been outclassed by Andrew Bogut on both ends of the court. Michael Beasley, Clint Capela and Jason Terry will also have to kick into gear for the Rockets to get through this game.

Warriors Betting

Even without Curry, the Warriors are a well-oiled  scoring machine. Draymond Green was smoldering hot. Green came out with the triple double of 12 points, 14 boards and eight dimes. Shaun Livingston added 16 points and Klay Thompson was also on fire.

Though Curry’s absence was obviously felt, especially in the Warriors’ ability to score three’s, Thompson and Andre Iguodala put up seven three-pointers between them.

Game Prediction: Without Curry, there’s more of a chance the Rockets win, especially back home. However, if Curry plays we expect the Warriors to win once again.
