Bet on the Thunder

The Thunder’s first game defeat had to be harrowing, losing by 32 points is a hard pill to swallow for any team. Oklahoma City at points even looked like amateurs playing against a merciless professional team of killers.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will have to shake things up in the second game and hope this lights the fire in the rest of the player’s bellies. Of course, to do this the duo will also have to have a better performance than what they showed in game 1. Both players struggled to put up points and ended with a combined score of just 30 points.

And, if Thunder’s perimeter shooting was horrid, their effectiveness from three-point land was even worse. They could only put up 6 three-pointers from 23 attempts made.

They’ll also need to figure out quickly, something to stop the Spurs’ offense. The Thunder’s defense looked like Swiss cheese, unable to contain the Spurs from cutting through to the basket or scoring from the perimeter on pick-and-roll opportunities.

Bet on the Spurs

The Spurs made a statement in game 1 and brought the pain to Oklahoma City. Though there was some question on whether the Spurs were too well-rested, it seemed like the days off suited them well and San Antonio came out playing like if they were on a mission. All in all, a total of three players scored big time and in double figures.

San Antonio was practically perfect in scoring from the perimeter, shooting around 60% from the field. They also showed they can get things done from downtown, where they were hitting above 60 percent of their shots.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge were both red hot, combining for 63 points and getting things done on defense as well. Aldridge, scored 38 of those points in just over 29 minutes. Meanwhile, Leonard stuck to Westbrook like white on rice and kept him to just two points when he was defending against him.

If the Spurs can have another outing as in game 1, they’ll likely have the same result in this game and take the 2-0 advantage.
