Bet on the Cardinals

Lamar Jackson proved himself in week 1 by coming out gunning in their game against the Charlotte 49ers and putting up 405 total yards and 8 touchdowns. The game could be described as bloody murder and it still would be short being that it ended in a score of 70-14. Now, being that Jackson didn’t play last year in their game against the Orange, this year he’ll be out for blood regardless that they didn’t even need him the last time around because the won. Jackson has an incredible ability to move through the ground, averaging 177 rushing yards that have seen six touchdowns over the last three games. But, Jackson has also taken his air game up a notch as seen in this last game and this looms dark for the Orange.

Bet on the Orange

The Orange also kicked off this season with a win against Colgate 33-7. Their defense, which now works out of a Tampa 2 defensive alignment consisting of three linebackers, two cornerbacks and two safeties, limited Colgate to only 143 total yards of offense. However, it’s hard to think how they’ll stop Jackson and the Cardinals’ offensive attack. Syracuse’s linebackers might be able to contain Jackson somewhat but they won’t be able to stop him altogether. As for the offense, it’s now lead by head coach Dino Babers, who’s “hurry-up” style offense led Bowling Green to the sixth spot in the nation in scoring offense with an average of 42.2 points per game. Quarterback Eric Dungey was decent in their first game, managing to complete 34 of 40 passes for 355 yards. In his sophomore year, Dungey is sure to improve under Babers’ system but this remains to be seen and this game will give him a good opportunity to prove himself.
