CONCACAF Gold Cup Betting Analysis

The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup begins on Tuesday, July 7, and 12 teams will be competing to see who will be crowned champions in this edition. The United States won the 2013 Gold Cup, and they will be trying to win their fourth Gold Cup trophy in six years, which will put them in a tie with Mexico for most wins by one country. With the tournament about to start, we will take a closer look at the teams participating, and make some soccer predictions.

Going into the tournament, the United States of America and Mexico are the overall favorites, because the two nations have made it to the finals in three of the last four tournaments. Of the two nations, the United States are slightly favored, because they are co-hosts of the tournament with Canada, so they will have a lot of the fans in their corner.

According to the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup schedule, Group A kicks off the tournament with a game between Panama and Haiti, followed by the United States vs Honduras. The game between USA and Honduras will be the match of the night, because the United States are the defending champions, and defending champions always get center stage.

United States vs Honduras.

The United States is considered a favorite in this tournament, not only because they are the defending champions, also because they have been playing very well lately, which has resulted in some big wins for the team. They are coming off four straight wins, and recent friendly victories over the Netherlands and Germany, who are two of the best teams in the world, so they will go into this match with a lot of confidence.

Honduras hasn’t had a run as good as the United States lately, they have one win, two draws, and one loss in their last four games, with the only win coming against El Salvador. While their defense has been pretty solid, they have had trouble finding the back of the net, and have only two goals in their last four games. They will need a big effort on the offensive end, to have a chance to defeat the United States on Tuesday night.

Match Odds and Predictions.

As expected, the United States are the overwhelming favorites in this match. The money line is -275 for them to win, and +750 for Honduras. The over/under on total goals scored is 2.5.

My Pick: When you compare both teams, the United States has the advantage on both sides of the ball, and are clearly the better team, so if you are going to some CONCACAF Gold Cup betting, the United States is the team to put your money on.

The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup is broken into three groups of four teams. In Group A, the United States, Honduras, Panama, and Haiti, will be competing against each other to determine the group winner. The United States are obviously the favorites in the group, based on the fact that they have had a lot of success at this tournament, they are the defending champions, and they are also the best team in the group.

Even though the American team is the heavy favorite, it is a soccer tournament, and like every other tournament, upsets are a possibility. In Group A, the team most likely to pose a threat to the United States is Panama, the team that the United States defeated to win the 2013 Gold Cup. Panama has a very talented team that is capable of upsetting the Americans, but they haven’t been very impressive in their most recent games. They have two wins, one loss and one draw in their last four games, and their most recent game was a 4-0 loss to Ecuador. They should be able to defeat Honduras and Haiti, but will have to be at their best to defeat the United States.

In Group B, Jamaica, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Canada, will face each other to determine which team will win the group. On Paper, Canada has the slight edge in the group, because they will play their games in front of their home crowd, which should give them an advantage. The Canadians are also riding a four game winning streak, which should provide them with some extra confidence. To make the streak even more impressive, they have not allowed a goal during the four game streak, and they have only allowed three goals in their last seven games. The key to their success during this tournament will be their defense, and if they keep playing as well as they have recently, they will not only win the group, they will also have a great chance of winning the tournament.

The biggest threat that Canada will face in Group B of the soccer Gold cup 2015, is Jamaica. Jamaica had a four match winning streak before the start of the just concluded Copa America tournament. They had one of the toughest draws of the tournament, because they were matched up against Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, and as expected, they failed to win a game during group play. Despite the disappointment at Copa America, the Jamaicans played very good defense, and were able to hold each of those teams to one goal apiece. In this tournament, they should be able to defeat El Salvador and Costa Rica, to give them a chance move on to the next round.

Group C, has Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, and Trinidad, which makes Mexico the favorite to advance in the group. The Mexicans also had a quick exit at the Copa America tournament, and are winless in their last six games, with four draws and two losses. Despite their recent struggles, they are still better than Cuba and Guatemala, so they are expected to defeat them. Their biggest challenge will be against Trinidad, and if they are playing as well as they can, they should be able to defeat them.

Trinidad and Tobago might be considered the biggest threat to Mexico, but they haven’t shown anything to suggest that they will be much of a challenge to the Mexican team. They have lost three straight matches, and are winless in their last five. They have suffered losses to Curacao and Panama recently, with a draw against Cuba, which has a lot of people doubting that they can get a win against Mexico. Despite their recent struggles, they should be able to turn things around and finish second in the group.

Now that we have taken a look at the groups, it is time to make our group winning soccer predictions. In Group A, the United States will emerge on top, in Group B, co-hosts Canada, will be the winners, and in Group C, Mexico should be able to hold off the rest of the teams and win the group.
