Bet on Real Madrid

Though without their star attackers, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, Real Madrid nevertheless managed to draw in Manchester. And, even if they lost the opportunity of gaining a valuable away goal, the result might turn out to be a blessing if they can hold Manchester City scoreless at Bernabeu.

If they manage to win tomorrow, it would be the team’s 14th Champions League final, which this year is being held in Milan, Italy.

Without a question, Ronaldo has been the head man for Real in the Champions. The Portuguese player has amassed an incredible 16 goals in the Champions and assisted on 4 and, after returning from injury, will be looking to please the fans with at least one goal in tomorrow’s match.

At this time, it’s still unknown if Ronaldo and Benzema will be healthy enough to play tomorrow, however, in their absence Gareth Bale has picked up the slack, scoring in each of the three games played without Ronaldo and Benzema. It also favors the Spanish squad, that they’re playing on their home pitch keeping a clean sheet in every Champions league match played there.

Surprisingly, Madrid, a team known for its aggressive attack, sat deep in the first game and seemed like a team that wanted to get through the match without allowing a score. Something which they accomplished. Now, the statistics are on Madrid’s side, with only 31 per cent of the teams who have drawn on the home leg going on to the finals.

Bet on Manchester City

It’s a historic time for the Citizens, as the only squad that has reached the round of 16 in this competition. Manuel Pellegrini’s squad has high hopes on breaking Keylor Navas’ sheet of 10 games out of 11 without allowing a goal in the Champions.

Man City is hoping that Real’s point man, Cristiano Ronaldo, will not be healthy enough to play in tomorrow’s match. As Ronaldo proved in the last round, he’s deadly even when facing the tough obstacle of being behind two goals in the scoreboard.

Manchester City will take the pitch with the clear mission to win, which is what they attempted at Etihad Stadium in the first game. Pellegrini has stated that they’ll go out high and press for a score, rather than vie for a goalless draw. With players such as Sergio Aguero, Kevin DeBruyne, and David Silva in their ranks, they have more than enough manpower to get the job done. However, they will not have David Silva for the away match, as he is now on the injured list with a hamstring affection suffered in the first game. They will though have Yaya Toure healthy to play, someone that already has the experience of beating Real back when he was playing with Barcelona in 2009.

As for defense, the Citizens got a huge boost in Vincent Kompany’s return. All in all, they managed to foil Real Madrid’s attempts of getting past the defense and capitalizing on the counterattack.
