The Chicago Cubs are the defending World Series champions but haven’t played as well as they did last year, raising concerns about the team’s playoff chances.
The team has lost three of its last five games and currently in second place in the NL Central, 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers, but many people believe they can get back on track as they’re a game over .500, 6-4 in their past 10 games
Chicago has been fortunate that no team in the division has been able to take a commanding lead, which is why the division is still up for grabs.
Their starting pitching, which was one of their strengths last season, hasn’t played as well so far. The team’s starters have 31 quality starts this season, which is tied for 21st in the league.

The energy level was pretty low, so I wanted to do the best job I could staying over the (pitching) rubber, executing pitches at the bottom of strike zone.”
