The Angels are currently 12 games behind the Houston Astros in the NL West, and also in a three way tie with the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers for second place in the division. The team has been playing relatively well without injured star Mike Trout, but they need to go on a run to catch the Astros, so they have to take advantage of playing in front of their home crowd.
The Angels took two out of three games from the Astro before the start of this series and won four of their last six games before the series with the Yankees. Los Angeles will try to build on its recent success, but have to figure out a way to shut down the Yankees bats.
