2018 MLB PLAYER PROPS

Season Series

The Yanks swept a three-game home series in early May. The last game of the May -series was a doozy, New York won 7-4 on a three-run walk-off home run from rookie Gleyber Torres, who became the youngest Yankee to end a game with a walk-off homer, a mark held by the great Mickey Mantle since 1953.

Betting on the Yankees?

Torres won’t be around due to a hip injury that’ll keep him from playing. He’ll also miss the All-Star Game for the same reason, being replaced by Oakland’s Jed Lowrie. Torres will begin rehab games and be eligible to be activated during All-Star break.

Star catcher Gary Sanchez is still out for a 10-day stint with a right groin strain and will begin a short minor-league rehab assignment this weekend but should be back for when the Yankees return from the All-Star Game to play the Mets for a Subway Series games at Yankee Stadium.

Cy Young favorite Luis Severino gets the nod to head to mound tonight. Severino is also the leading candidate to start for the American League in next week’s All Star Game.

Severino is the most profitable pitcher for you if you’re banking on the Yanks as he’s 17-2 when he starts on the mound. Severino (14-2, 2.12) picked up another win in Saturday’s 8-5 victory over the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over five frames while striking out five.

While Severino hasn’t faced the Indians this season, he did beat them last year in Game 4 of the ALDS. Severino is only the fourth pitcher in the majors to have at least 14 wins prior to the All-Star break since 2003.

Betting on the Indians?

A big part of why the Indians reached the 2016 World Series was the big trade they made with the Yankees for relief pitcher Andrew Miller. However, Miller is currently on the DL with a knee injury and won’t be returning to the Indian’s bullpen until after the All-Star break. Cleveland’s bullpen has been in a tailspin since his injury.

Other notable injuries include that of outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall, who will miss the next 8-10 weeks with a left calf strain.

Corey Kluber gets the nod tonight for the Indians; the two-time Cy Young winner is also in the conversation to start in the All-Star Game. Kluber (12-4, 2.49) didn’t play into the decision in Saturday’s 6-3 extra-innings loss to the A’s, giving up five hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings while striking out three.

It’s Kluber’s first start this season facing the Yanks; he has a lifetime record of 5-1 in seven career starts vs. the Yankees with a 1.80 ERA (10ER/50.0IP).
