Betting on the Raptors

There are plenty of folks right now that believe the Raptors simple can’t beat the Cavaliers.

LeBron James has made it practically impossible for the Raptors to come back and win the series. After what probably was a demoralizing loss in Game 3, Toronto is in a 3-0 hole.

The days when the Raptors were the only team to not have lost three games in a row are long gone after their previous game.

Of course, it didn’t help Toronto that their best player, DeMar DeRozan, was benched for the final 14 minutes. DeRozan was just 3-for-12 for a postseason-low eight points as the Cavs made it a point to double-team him whenever possible and dared others to try to beat them.

It seems Raptors coach Dwane Casey has been outmaneuvered by his counterpart, Tyronn Lue, and may be unable to get his team to bounce back.

However, Lue did remain cautious and warned his team not to lie on their laurels:

I don't know who the pressure is on but it's a tough game because it's either win or go home for the team down 3-0. They're going to come out swinging like they did [Saturday] night, and when you have a team with a lot of pride that's well-coached, they're not just going to give in. They're going to do everything they can to try to win the game and get back to Toronto. We understand that, and we just have to come out with the right mindset and match their intensity early and try to close it out if we can."

One thing is certain, DeMar must have a practically perfect performance if the Raptors hope to avoid a loss tonight.

Betting on the Cavaliers

There’s no stopping the King. LeBron James just keeps on getting better in every game; James scored a team-high, thirty-eight points in Game 3.

He made 14 of his 26 attempts from the field, for a 53.8% field goal percentage (9/11 from the line, 1/4 from three-point range). And apart from his thirty-eight points, he dished out seven assists, while grabbing six rebounds, three steals, one block and one three-pointer with just 4 turnovers in 41 minutes of play.

James is the sole reason why you shouldn’t fall into all the hype surrounding the Raptors. Cleveland didn’t get much respect when the Eastern Conference semifinal series started, but James quickly silenced the naysayers.

The Cavs backed two straight-up wins as an underdog and then sealed another victory in Cleveland as the favorite in Game 3.

Even if the Cavaliers failed to cover the spread in Game 3, James managed to pull off an incredible buzzer beater for the 105-103 win.

Cleveland is now 5.5-point chalk for Game 4 and LeBron will try to finish the Raptors off at Quicken Loans Arena tonight which only gives them more of an advantage.

One thing’s for certain, LeBron will be on the hunt tonight and he’ll be making Toronto bow down to the King.
