First Round Conference Playoffs NBA 2017 Picks For Today

Has Atlanta finally snapped out of their funk? Washington better beware. And, can the Portland Trail Blazers avoid being cleanly swept by the Golden State Warriors? Maybe not, but the ATS bet looks solid. Find out in why in these first round NBA conference playoffs picks for today.

  • What: Game 4 Washington Wizards vs Atlanta Hawks
  • When: Monday, April 24, 2017, 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Philips Arena – Atlanta, GA
  • Spread: Hawks -2.5
  • Over/Under: 210.5

Betting on the Wizards?

The Wizards ran out of steam in Game 3. and ended up with a 116-98 loss, along with allowing the Hawks to close the gap in the series, now at, 2-1.

John Wall was a lone figure for the Wizards, being the only player having scored more than 20 points with 29, along with four rebounds and seven assists. Bradley Beal only scored 12 points on 6 of 20 shooting from the field which is way below his average points over the first two games.

Washington struggled to contain Atlanta’s intensity from the get go. And, unless they make some adjustments on defense, this game might have a similar outcome than the last.

Betting on the Hawks?

The Hawks are fired up. Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder provided the spark in Atlanta’s dominance over the Wizards in Game 3. Millsap and Schroder scored 29 and 27 points, respectively, with Millsap also lending a heaping hand on the boards with 14 rebounds. Rookie Taurean Prince continues to have breakout performances, now averaging 14 points and just under five rebounds in this series.

Atlanta played well on both sides of the courts. It was unselfish with the ball, dishing out 26 assists, which is 10 more than the Wizards. And, picked up 16 forced turnovers, while managing to contain Washington’s shooters to 24 percent.

Betting Trends: Washington is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games on the road; Atlanta is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home.

Game Prediction: Atlanta gets the job done at home. The season beyond tonight is tied 2-2.

  • What: Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers
  • When: Monday, April 24, 2017, 10:30 PM ET
  • Where: Moda Center – Portland, Oregon
  • Spread: Warriors -7
  • Over/Under: 219.5

Betting on the Warriors?

Despite being hobbled by injuries to its players, and head coach, the Warriors are on the brink of sweeping the Trail Blazers.

Most notably, Stephen Curry has led this team with a performance worthy of his two MVP awards. Curry also spearheaded the come-from-behind win in Game 3 with 34 points and eight assists.

Klay Thompson also contributed 24 points of his own in the third game, while Andre Iguodala and Javale McGee provide a combined 30 points off the bench.

Betting on the Trail Blazers?

It doesn’t matter that the Trail Blazers can follow the Warriors’ offense if they can’t slow it down. In other words, having a good offense doesn’t matter if your defense doesn’t slow your opponent down.

Portland has allowed over 110 points in each of the first three games. Which makes Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum’s efforts on offense rather pointless. Jusuf Nurkic provided some assistance on defense in Game 3, but he might not play in tonight’s game.

Even so, Portland may find some inspiration tonight to not let down their home crowd. Though they may not win the game, can they perhaps beat the spread?

Betting Trends: Golden State is 18-1 SU in its last 19 games; Portland is 14-5 ATS in its last 19 games.

Game Prediction: I don’t have any hopes that Portland wins the game, but I do think they can cover. My against the spread bet is Portland +7.
