First Round NBA Playoff Series Predictions
What: Game 3 Washington Wizards vs Atlanta Hawks
- When: Saturday, April 22, 2017, 5:30 PM ET
- Where: Philips Arena, Atlanta
- Spread: TBD
- Over/Under: TBD
Analysis: The Wizards have jumped ahead 2-0 in the series. However, the games head on to Atlanta where the Hawks can gain some ground. The Wizards have played better, notably John Wall who added 32 points on 9 for 20 shooting from the field and 12 for 15 from the free throw line. Bradley Beal has also performed well, scoring 31 points including four threes in Game 2. If the Hawks are to win, they’ll need to figure out a way to slow Wall down without fouling him. Hawks big man Dwight Howard should step up his rebounding game and start scoring some; Washington out-rebounded Atlanta 43-41 in Game 2 and Howard only scored six and had only seven rebounds.
Game Prediction: Atlanta pulls through at home.
What: Game 3 Boston Celtics vs Chicago Bulls
- When: Friday, April 21, 2017, 7:00 PM ET
- Where: United Center, Chicago, IL
- Spread: Bulls -2
- Over/Under: 207
Analysis: The Celtics are crumbling to pieces and now trail the series by two games as the games travel to the Windy City. Is it perhaps a matter of playoff experience? Perhaps, but Isaiah Thomas does not seem like Boston’s lucky charm and, thus far, remains the only Celtic that’s scored more than 20 points in a game this series (20 pts with 1-5 threes in Game 2). Chicago is looking much stronger; just about key Chicago player had a great performance in Game 3, as the team ended up with a 51.1-percent field-goal percentage on the night. Jimmy Butler scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and eight assists, Rajon Rondo nearly had a triple-double with a 11-9-14 stat line, and Dwyane Wade scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half.
Game Prediction: The Bulls win once more and smack the Celtics in the face with a defeat.
Game 3 Toronto Raptors vs Milwaukee Bucks
- When: Thursday, April 20, 2017, 8:00 PM ET
- Where: BMO Harris Bradley Center – Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Spread: Bucks -1.5
- Over/Under: 196.5
Analysis: Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan earned their keep in Game 2 for the Raptors, as they combined for 45 points on 15-of-30 shooting to lead the Raps to a 106-100 win. Serge Ibaka also jumped back to life with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks while Patrick Patterson and Corey Joseph combined for 19 points off the bench. The Bucks are fighting tooth and claw each game and now get to go back home with a split series. Giannis Antetokounmpo played well once again in Game 2, scoring 24 points, 15 grabbing rebounds, and handing out 7 assists. Greg Monroe also played well, scoring 18 points off the bench, and Khris Middleton bounced back to post 20 points in the second game.
Game Prediction: The Bucks take back the series lead with a 98-93 home win.
