Bet on the Thunder

Perhaps the Thunder’s most lethal weapon is also their Achilles’ heel. After having the golden opportunity of heading to the Finals, and putting an end the the Warriors’ historic season, the Thunder watched their lead heading in the fourth period of game 6 shrink down and then disappear much to the dismay of their fans.

OKC’s dependence on their dynamic duo of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant is a double-sided sword which proved to be their undoing in that critical game. Though both players put up a combined 57 points, their shooting was horrible and it prevented them from acquiring the low hanging fruit that could have been harvested from beneath the rim.

What made it worse is that they were neither hitting from the perimeter or from beyond the three point line. In fact, the Thunder only hit 3 of 20 shots taken from downtown. And, when you’re missing your mark, it’s time to change the game plan; considering that you’re out-rebounding your opponent 49-43 and your big man is doing his job at center, maybe you should go for the easy bucket down below the rim instead of the long shot.

What’s clear is that the Thunder now has a rocky road ahead. They haven’t won at Oracle Arena since game 1 and now the Warriors have momentum on their side…and their home crowd. It won’t be easy.

Bet on the Warrior

You can’t discount a team’s fighting spirit, even if all the odds are stacked against them. This is exactly what the Warriors proved when they won game 6. Not only that, they also won a huge morale boost. When everyone thought that it was practically over, now Golden State is once again the favorite to win.

Stephen Curry led a magnanimous effort to bring his team back to life. With 31 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, the 28 year old point guard made sure they weren’t gonna go down without a fight. But, it wasn’t only Curry who saved the day; the other half of the Splash Brothers was equally as impressive.

Klay Thompson hit the mark for a game-high 41 points, which included 11 three-pointers and the shot that put the Warriors in the lead with just over a minute left on the clock.

Draymond Green has also risen to the challenge, with 12 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals, the 26 year old power forward once again became a factor for Golden State’s opportunity to make it to the 2016 NBA Finals.
