Betting on the Warriors

The deadly trio of Durant, Curry, and Thompson once more did their job, helping Golden State inch closer to sweeping San Antonio in four games. Durant led the team with 33 points, Stephen Curry had 21, while Klay Thompson added 17 to the final score of 120-108 in Game 3.

It’s the Warriors’ 10 SU victory on the road and Game 4 is likely to make it 11. Golden State stuck to their guns and scored from the perimeter at will, hitting 11 trees on 40.7 accuracy.

Golden State knows that without Kahwi Leonard, the Spurs are toothless on defense. Even if Leonard is forced to play in Game 4, San Antonio is a hobbled team and there’s no reason to not expect a series sweep tonight.

About the only thing they might have to improve before they head to the Finals is rebounding. If all goes as expected, they’ll face the Cavs and they cannot afford to be outrebounded should they want to avoid last year’s outcome.

Betting on Spurs

As mentioned above, San Antonio has no bite without Kahwi Leonard. And, LaMarcus Aldridge clearly doesn’t cut it.

Aldridge continues to struggle to put up points and take advantage of his size. Though he scored 18 points in Game 3, the Warriors seem to have his ticket and by now rendered him ineffective at best.

Should Leonard be forced to play in this game, don’t expect much from him. Though he would surely contribute to San Antonio’s overall defense, the way his teammates are playing makes him just another hobbled player.

Jonathon Simmons and Pau Gasol scored a combined 26 points in Game 3, but it’s clearly not enough against a team like Golden State. Danny Green also needs to step up as he’s been a disappointment so far only scrounging up 21 points through these three games.
