Bet on Texas A&M +6.5 Because…

The Aggies might as well flush their season’s hopes after losing three conference games in a row, including losses against Mississippi State and Ole Miss. A&M is sorely missing Trevor Knight; without him, the Aggies have limited offensive options in the passing game through backup QB Jake Hubenak, and on the ground with no one to replace Knight’s abilities.

The game might be won by the Aggies’ top-notch defense; currently, it’s tied in forcing turnovers (24) and can get to Etling to rattle his cage.

Bet on LSU -6.5 Because…

Ed Orgeron hit the ground running after Les Miles left, winning three consecutive games and the fans’ respect. However, since, the Tigers have lost two of their last three, both of which were at home, and now Orgeron finds himself hot under the collar. The Tigers seem to be a one-trick pony of sorts, with an offense that is effective in out-gaining opponents but doesn’t score points and turns over the ball. Of course, you have to consider that LSU may perfectly do better against A&M’s rushing defense that is giving up almost 180 rushing yards per game.

As for LSU’s defense, it’ll make Hubenak’s afternoon a nightmare. The Tigers can kill the Aggies’ run game – they are giving up just 3.2 yards per carry, 2nd in the SEC – and have also only given up six passing touchdowns all year, also 2nd in the conference behind Alabama.

LSU vs Texas A&M Final Score Prediction

LSU dominated Texas A&M during the Les Miles' era, the Tigers are 5-0 SU and ATS in their past five against the Aggies. Leonard Fournette’s health will be a major factor, as the running back played last week but was limited due to injuries. Fournette is a big part in the Tigers’ ability to move the chains and give them a chance to score. LSU needs to be tight and cannot afford being sloppy with the ball. They should have won against Florida but fumbled thrice in that game.

Meanwhile Texas A&M is just 2-3 SU in its past five, with the two wins coming against New Mexico State and Texas-San Antonio. The Aggies offense is not on the same level when Trevor Knight was at the helm, when the team averaged 498 yards, now the team is averaging only 385 total yards.

I’m siding with the Tigers on this one, LSU wins and covers at -7

My final score prediction is LSU 35-Texas A&M 27
