Bet on Chicago -7.5 Because…
Quarterback Brian Hoyer has been steadily improving and, in fact, had another 300+ passing yards game against Jacksonville on Sunday albeit ending in a loss. Chicago’s passing game has been solid with a few rising stars, namely Cameron Meredith, who also had a great performance against the Jaguars amounting to 113 receiving yards on 11 catches. The combination of Hoyer, Meredith, along with Alshon Jeffery can be deadly effective and be the key to victory.
Bet on Green Bay +7.5 Because…
The Packers should be reeling after losing at home to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, 30-16. With a week’s rest, Green Bay should be fairly rested and ready to prove why Lambeau Field is theirs to win. Aaron Rodgers should also have solved any difficulties he was experiencing in scoring while in the red zone and will come out gunning as is expected from an MVP-player. The Packers’ ground game should also benefit from going up against a reasonably weak Bears’ rush defense and Eddie Lacy will have a showing in this game.
Expert Pick Thursday Night Football Pick
The Bears will likely turn to the air attack in hopes of breaking down the Packers’ pass defense that showed signs of weakness in their game against the Cowboys. However, Green Bay has the home field advantage and will be playing with a huge chip on their shoulders to prove themselves at Lambeau Field.
It is unlikely Aaron Rodgers will have another bad game and be off target while in the red zone. You’ll see him come out gunning and get at least a couple of touchdowns.
The Bears will try to go to the ground to take pressure off the receiving corps, but the Packers’ rushing defense is too good to break down and they’ll make Chicago pay for it. This being the case, I’m favoring Green Bay for the win.
