Picking The Winner Of Super Bowl 51

After the final whirlwind of Wild Card Weekend, the NFL playoff picture is finally here. From here on out, it’s anyone’s ballgame and though there are still the major favorites to make it and win Super Bowl 51, the fact is anything could happen. What is your pick for which team will make it to the big game? I’ll break down the updated odds and analyze each team’s chances to bring home the glory. Onward we go!

Super Bowl 51 Odds & Picks

Can The Seattle Seahawks (+1000) Win Super Bowl 51

On the one hand, the Seahawks are back in the divisional round of the playoffs for the fifth consecutive time. On the other, they now face the Falcons away from CenturyLink Field whose “12th man” has proved effective over and over again this season (7-1 at home). Not only that, the Falcons at the Georgia Dome have been equally effective at winning games. Nevertheless, Seahawks’ fans may perhaps find comfort that their team had already beaten their next opponents back in Week 6, that currently Seattle’s running game seems to have kicked into gear and that Russell Wilson is as healthy as can be hoped.

Are The Atlanta Falcons (+550) A Smart Super Bowl 51 Pick

The Falcons are riding Matt Ryan’s coattails. And, count on Ryan to play with a huge chip on his shoulders after having lost to Seattle back in Week 6. Of course, playing at the Georgia Dome favors Atlanta big time, not only have they won four in a row but Seattle ended 3-4-1 on the road this season. Also, the Falcons’ offense has scored a minimum of 28 points over their last six games and with Julio Jones being as healthy as can be expected, you can expect him to be front and center in grabbing touchdown passes.

Betting The Houston Texans (+4000) To Win Super Bowl 51 Is Sucker Bet

If there ever was a David and Goliath battle this seems to take the cake. Though the Texans earned their way into the Divisional Round, they did so after defeated a hobbled and broken Raiders team playing with their third string quarterback. Regardless, let’s not take credit away from quarterback Brock Osweiller who did improve his performance vs the Raiders even going so far as throwing for a season-high 119 yards. Just don’t count on Houston to pull off an upset, at least, I wouldn’t bet the farm away on that possibility.

The New England Patriots (+120) Are The Odds-On Favorites To Win Super Bowl 51

What’s changed for the Patriots after the first weekend of playoff games? Not much. New England is still pretty much the favorite to make it to Super Bowl 51 while every other team is pretty much left battling it out for the second spot. They now face the Texans which, as mentioned above, shouldn’t be too tough of a competition and they’re still as dominant as ever on offense if on defense as well. The offensive line will have to contend with Jadeveon Clowney but apart from him there’s not much else to worry about.

The Talented Pittsburgh Steelers (+600) Are A Smart Super Bowl 51 Bet

After watching how Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell played last weekend against the Dolphins, there’s more than enough reasons to believe the Steelers are up to the challenge of defeating the Chiefs. And it wasn’t solely the Steelers offense that played well as Pittsburgh’s D came through with flying colors managing to stop Jay Ajayi’s running game cold. The Chiefs’ defense will pose a difficult obstacle for Roethlisberger’s passing game but it’s likely Bell will pound the ground attack over and over.

The Kansas City Chiefs (+800) Are Quietly A Top Super Bowl 51 Winning Team

The Chiefs got some rest after nabbing the No 2. seed in the AFC however they now face a sizzling-hot Steelers team that won’t bat an eye in facing them. Though the Chiefs have an impressive and solid defense which as everyone knows wins championship games, Ben Roethlisberger can and will try his best to crack them open. And if you throw in Le’Veon Bell to the mix it might end up being a disaster for the Chiefs.

The Green Bay Packers (+600) Are The Most Popular Super Bowl 51 Bet

Aaron Rodgers proved why he’s one of the league’s elite quarterback after what he did against the Giants last weekend. Rodgers went ahead to pass for 362 yards and thus gave hope to Packers fans that perhaps their team can make it to the next round. However, they face perhaps the most difficult opponent and defense will be the name of the game for the Packers if they’re to pass through and pull off an upset. Green Bay needs to figure out a way to slow down Ezekiel Elliot and keep Dak Prescott under a lid. Do this and this dream may come true.

The Dallas Cowboys (+350) Are The Bandwagon Super Bowl 51 Pick

What this Cowboys team lacks in experience, they make up with raw talent. True that, Elliot and Prescott are green around the edges but what they’ve accomplished so far is incredible. Also, the Cowboys boast one of, if not the, best offensive lines in the game, one that can provide Prescott and Elliot with enough protection for them to work their magic. The Cowboys vs Packers game will be the game to watch this weekend, if I do nothing else I’ll be watching this game.
