Week 8 NFL 5-Star Picks

Week 8 of the NFL regular season rolls in and for the first time this season there aren’t any undefeated teams. Betting a hot team is usually a smart play and I have three must bet 5-star NFL lock picks waiting for you.

Week 8 NFL 5-Star Picks

  • What: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys
  • When: Sunday, October 30, 2016
  • Start Time: 8:30 PM ET
  • Where: Arlington, TX
  • Stadium: AT&T Stadium
  • Spread: Cowboys -4.5
  • Moneyline: Philadelphia +166 at Dallas -200 (opening line)
  • Game Total: 43.5
  • Watch: NBC

Analysis: If the Eagles hadn’t beaten the Minnesota Vikings, perhaps we our pick would’ve been different. However, Philadelphia snapped the Vikings’ undefeated record in great fashion even going so far as to sacking Sam Bradford six times (we guess that their former QB wasn’t expecting this). Although Dallas will win, they won’t cover the -4.5-point spread so I am picking the Eagles ATS.

Week 8 NFL 5-Star Pick: Eagles ATS

  • What: Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons
  • When: Sunday, October 30, 2016
  • Start Time: 4:25 PM ET
  • Where: Atlanta, GA
  • Stadium: Georgia Dome
  • Spread: Falcons -2.5
  • Moneyline: Green Bay +106 at Atlanta -125 (opening line)
  • Game Total: 52.5
  • Watch: FOX

Analysis: The Packers annihilated the Bears last Thursday, 26-10. Though Aaron Rodgers proved why he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league, we still have our doubts on his receiving corps, especially with Jordy Nelson, who had a horrible performance against the Bears (1 of 4 caught passes for 9 yards). If the Packers want to go tit-for-tat against the Falcons in the passing game, Nelson will have to kick it up a notch, better yet, maybe even two or three notches considering Atlanta leads the league in scoring offense and total offense. That’s why I am putting my money on the Falcons to win and cover.

Week 8 NFL 5-Star Pick: Atlanta -2.5

  • What: Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers
  • When: Sunday, October 30, 2016
  • Start Time: 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Charlotte, NC
  • Stadium: Bank of America Stadium
  • Spread: Panthers -2.5
  • Moneyline: Arizona +115 at Carolina -135 (opening line)
  • Game Total: 48
  • Watch: FOX

Analysis: Who would’ve expected that we’d be treated to a Twilight Zone episode in the Cardinals-Seahawks game; did it really end in a 6-6 tie? How in the world did Chandler Catanzaro miss that 24-yarder to win the game? Well, maybe we need to ask the Seahawks’ Steven Hauschka…oh that’s right he also missed his own game-winning kick…albeit from 28 yards.

Let’s move forward shall we…

The Cardinals still have a good shot at winning over the Panthers; though they enter the game as underdogs, the combination of Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson has worked well for Arizona, if these three are firing on all cylinders in this game the Cardinals could end up winning it.

On the other hand, the Panthers are foaming at the mouth with their performance this season and probably ready to win a game by this time. Cam Newton is well-rested after a bye week and should come out gunning, seeking to connect with Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen. We also appreciate that running back Jonathan Stewart is healthy again, which should give the Panthers some strength on the ground.

Week 8 NFL 5-Star Pick: The Panthers will win, but won’t cover. Bet the Cardinals at +2.5
