Though New York holds the second spot in the league for winning at home, they’ve not had the same success playing away from Madison Square Garden. However, over the last six games, they’ve managed to pick up the slack and won five.

This includes a win over Pittsburgh 3-0 back in February 10, that moves them one step closer to tying their record of winning five straight against the Penguins since 1973-74.

But, it shouldn’t be something the Rangers should lose their focus over. In fact, the possibilities are the Penguins win at home, where they’ve only lost two of their last 11 games.

New York will be starting Henrik Lundqvist at goal, where he’s had 1.35 goals-against average while starting each of the last 13 games against the Penguins, stopping all 34 shots he faced last month. He's allowed just three goals on 119 shots over the last four meetings.

While the Rangers are 11 points ahead of the post-season cutoff in the East, the Penguins are just three points ahead of Philadelphia for the second wild-card position. 

Having lost against Washington on Tuesday, dug them into a tricky hole that will now be hard to overcome going into tonight’s game. At this point in the season, the intensity is always high and they cannot afford to lose any opportunity if they want to move ahead of the competition.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have split their last 10 games. Center Sidney Crosby leads Pittsburgh with 25 goals, while Evgeni Malkin has 27 assists and Phil Kessel has put up 201 shots on goal.

Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has allowed 107 goals on 1,367 shots while Jeff Zatkoff has given up 32 goals on 384 shots. Fleury has allowed only six goals in his last three games.
