Cycling Predictions: 2013 Tour de France Stage 11 and Stage 12

Tour de France Picks

The Tour de France has a couple of flat stages coming up the next couple of days with Stage 11 from Avranches to Mont Saint-Michel on Wednesday while Stage 12 is Fougeres to Tours on Thursday. Chris Froome is the current leader and the favorite in Tour de France betting and he may increase his lead over the next two days.

Stage 11

The first individual time trial is on Wednesday with riders going from Avranches to Mont Saint-Michel. It is a 33-kilometer race against the clock for the riders on Wednesday. Chris Froome won’t win the time trial but he may pick up time on his closes competitors. "Definitely a day where I will try and extend my lead," Froome said. "It's definitely a day that could help the general classification. I definitely want to go for it."

Stage 12

This stage is almost totally flat which should help the sprinters. The stage goes from Fougeres to Tours and it usually has an exciting finish in front of Tour’s Parc des Expositions.

Tour de France Notes

The 10th stage on Tuesday was won by German rider Marcel Kittel. He was able to hold off Andre Greipel and Mark Cavendish for the stage win. Cavendish actually bumped another rider, Tom Veelers in the dash for the win. “I touched him. The road was bearing left," Cavendish said. "Yeah, it was my fault … I hope he's OK." Kittel won his second stage in this year’s Tour de France. Peter Sagan finished fourth and has a big lead for the green jersey.

Froome goes into Stage 11 with a good lead as he is a minute and 25 second ahead of Valverde and 1:51 ahead of his main rival, Alberto Contador.
