The Canadian Open, also known as the Canada Masters, is held each year in Canada with the men playing in Montreal and the women playing in Toronto. This tennis event takes place in early August in 2013. It is a Masters 1000 event and is played on hard courts in Montreal and Toronto. The men are playing in Montreal this year while the women are playing in Toronto. The cities will be reversed next year as the men will be in Toronto and the women in Montreal.

The Canada Masters began back in 1881 and was held at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. That first tournament was just for the men while the women started playing the following year. The current tournaments are held in Toronto with action occurring at the Rexall Centre while action in Montreal takes place at the Stage Uniprix.
