Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Finally Agree, Is The Drama Over?

Boxing fans all over the world are finally going to get the fight that they have been wishing for over the past five years, because Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, have finally agreed to fight this year, in what is expected to be the highest grossing fight in boxing history.

The Pacman vs Mayweather fight that everyone has been expecting for so many years is finally happening, according to Gareth Davis of The Telegraph, who reported over the weekend that both sides have agreed to the terms of the fight, which is supposedly worth up to $250 million. He also stated that sources close to the Filipino boxing star revealed to him that Pacquiao has signed all the required documents, and Mayweather is ready to sign it, and will announce the agreement in a couple of days.

According to Davis, the fighters have agreed to a 60/40 split of the revenue. Mayweather is set to receive 60 percent, while Pacquiao will receive 40 percent. Since the fight is expected to break all boxing box office records, this will be the biggest money fight for both men.

According to Davis, they also agreed to the size of the gloves to be worn, which will be 8 ounce gloves, and they have also agreed on the type of drug testing that they will both undergo before and after the fight. They will be using the U.S. anti doping agency, which will be assigned to give random drug tests, leading into the fight. Any matters that arise will be overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Another one of the problems that they had in the past, which was the television rights has also been resolved. Pacquiao is under contract with HBO, while Mayweather is under contract with Showtime. Both companies initially wanted the rights to the fight, but they have reached a compromise, and will jointly air the pay per view fight.

As soon as the news got out, fans of both fighters took to social media and sports websites to express their excitement about the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight, and have already started making predictions on who will win the fight, and if it will go the distance, or if there will be a knockout.

As expected, some fans are still skeptical, and say that they will wait until all the documents are signed by both fighters before they believe it will really happen. Those fans can't be faulted for their views, because this fight has been the biggest tease in boxing for a few years now, especially in recent months, when both sides have announced that they want to fight each other, and that they are close to finalizing a deal, before something comes up to derail the talks.

This time around, it looks like the deal will be done, because Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather exchanged numbers a few weeks ago at a basketball game, and have even met face to face at several locations to discuss the fight, which shows that they are both serious about it happening.
