2014 Sprint All Star Race Predictions on May 17th

Jimmie Johnson will try to make it three in a row at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Sprint All Star Race which will take place on May 17 as Johnson will be gunning for his 5th career All Star race win while Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon will both go for their fourth career All Star Race wins. The Sprint All Star Race begins on Saturday night at 7:30 PM ET with coverage on SPEED. The Sprint All Star race has been held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway since 1987. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is 1.5 miles in length with an asphalt surface and a quad oval configuration with turn banks of 24 degrees with 5 degree banks on the straightaways.


In order to Qualify for eligibility in the Sprint All Star Race with the NASCAR odds a driver must: have won a race both in the current and the preceding year, have won a Sprint Cup championship in the last 10 years, have won the All Star race in the last 10 years, win the Sprint Showdown, finish 2nd in the Sprint Showdown, or get voted in by the fans. There are a total of five segments for the Sprint All Star Race. The first four segments are 20 lap runs with a final 10 lap sprint.

Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, David Ragan, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Martin Truex Jr, Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and Kurt Busch are all in as qualified drivers.
