  • When: Wednesday, May 10, 2017 – 8:30 PM ET
  • Where: TD Garden – Boston, MA
  • Spread: Celtics -4.5

Betting on the Wizards?

The ball is in the Wizards’ side though this game will be played on the Celtics’ court after Washington tied the series at two games apiece.

Through Game 3 and 4, the Wizards showed the patience and grit of a team focused on passing through to the next round of the NBA playoffs. In the fourth game, Washington even went up by 26 unanswered points in the third quarter to eventually capture the 121-102 win.

The series now heads to Boston, where it’ll be a greater challenge to win, but with momentum on their side it’ll be interesting to see whether they can buck the trend of 0-5 SU losses in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Boston.

Betting on the Celtics?

The Celtics gave away their two game series lead in the Wizards’ court. However, with this game being played in Boston they have an even shot at taking it back.

Their chances of winning go up considering how ineffective Washington has been at winning on the road and that the next three games (if the series does, in fact, need a seventh game) will be played in Beantown. The Celtics have won all four games in TD Garden this season and their stats look good (AVG 119.7 points and 14.7 threes per game, while shooting above 50 percent).

Boston will look to Isaiah Thomas to lead the offense to victory. Thomas is averaging  29.5 points and 5.5 assists on 50 percent shooting in the series, but will need help from Al Hordord, Avery Bradley, and Jae Crowder if they’re to win.

Betting Trends

  • Washington is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games
  • Washington is 1-5 SU in its last 6 games on the road
  • Boston is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games
  • Boston is 8-4 SU in its last 12 games when playing Washington

Game Prediction and Pick: Game 5 will set the tone for however amount of games remain in this series. Washington will fall short once more at TD Garden, but will keep the game close. Boston wins but doesn’t cover at -4.5 points.
