  • The Rockets are the 4-point favorites over the Thunder in the latest NBA betting lines. James Harden scored his 15th career 40-point triple-double in the Rockets’ last game against Hawks.
  • It’s Russell Westbrook’s return to OKC after playing eleven seasons with the Thunder. Westbrook sat out the Rockets’ game against Atlanta but will look to help his team to their fourth consecutive win.

Betting on the Rockets?

The Rockets are a high-scoring machine behind a red-hot James Harden that continues to put up points like there’s no tomorrow. Harden gained his 15th career 40-point triple-double in the Rockets’ most recent game against the Hawks, and there aren’t any signs he’s slowing down.

Russell Westbrook sat out the game against Atlanta, but he’s due to return for tonight’s game. Westbrook is a big part of the Rockets’ success this season as he takes some of the burdens off of Harden’s shoulders. Westbrook is averaging 24.1 points, 7.9 boards, and seven dishes per game.

Along with Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, and Danuel House Jr., the Rockets lineup is a well-oiled offensive machine, but they do struggle on the defensive end of the court. Houston is allowing 116.8 PPG so far this season.

The Rockets are also the best team from downtown, netting 15.6 triples a night.

Last 3 Games Record

  • Score: 113.00
  • Halftime Score: 60.67
  • Field Goal Percentage: 43.18%
  • Rebounds: 40.33
  • 3 Point Shots: 44/142
  • Steals: 7.67

Betting on the Thunder?

The Thunder got right back in the saddle after losing to Philadelphia on the road by winning in overtime against the Nets last Tuesday. However, Houston might not feel at home tonight given Westbrook’s return to the city.

Oklahoma City is playing great basketball, winning ten of their last twelve games, and is well-positioned in the stacked Western Conference.

The Thunder will still be without Danilo Gallinari, who was averaging 18 PPG, something which might make it hard to keep up with Rockets' high-scoring tempo.

OKC is among the best teams in creating free throw attempts and avoiding fouling, which is something they’ll need to do if they want to keep up with the Rockets.

Last 3 Games Record

  • Score: 113.67
  • Halftime Score: 53.67
  • Field Goal Percentage: 43.37%
  • Rebounds: 53.67
  • 3 Point Shots: 42/110
  • Steals: 6.33

Betting Trends

  • Houston is 6-3 ATS in their last nine games.
  • Houston is 8-2 SU in their last ten games.
  • Houston is 1-5 ATS in their last six games against Oklahoma City.
  • Oklahoma City is 7-0 ATS in their last seven games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Oklahoma City's last eight games.
  • Oklahoma City is 6-1 SU in their last seven games.

Insider Prediction: I’m looking at a high-scoring game with both teams putting up a ton of points in the game. However, I think the Rockets will have a pumped-up Westbrook who’ll want to make a show in front of his old home crowd.

Pick: Rockets -4
