San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors

  • Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio
  • Spread: TBD
  • Over/Under: TBD

Betting on the Spurs?

Not that the Spurs didn’t put up a fight in Game 2, but they were nevertheless steamrolled by the Warriors. Without Kahwi Leonard, San Antonio were behind from the get-go, trailing by as much as 35 points at some points of the game.

And, to add salt to the wound, the Spurs’ shots were all but ineffective hitting just 37 percent from the field along with a bunch of turnovers (19) to boot.

There was also nothing the Spurs could do against Stephen Curry who was in the zone and hitting shots left, right, and center. Kevin Durant didn’t even have to break a sweat and Klay Thompson wasn’t even needed.

The series heads to San Antonio where the Spurs might at least get a shot at winning a game, but the way it’s looking it might not even happen considering the way Golden State has taken control in the first two games.

Without Leonard and Parker, the onus falls on LaMarcus Aldridge but he’s just not performing at the level needed in this point of the playoffs let alone against a team like the Warriors. San Antonio will need a full push from Jonathon Simmons, Pau Gasol, and Patty Mills if they’re to win Game 3.

Betting on the Warriors?

The Warriors only needed Curry to put down the Spurs in the second game. Curry wound up with 29 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including six of the Warriors 18 three-pointers.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant scored 16 points and Klay Thompson added 11 of his own, but they weren’t needed much. Now, since the next game is in San Antonio, the big 3 might be needed much more.

Without Leonard, the Warriors know the Spurs are hobbled especially on what they can do on defense. Nevertheless, Golden State did a great job at passing the ball around in Game 2 and finished with 39 assists. This makes Golden State a very hard team to defend against even if Leonard does come back for Game 3.

Game 3 is three days ahead which gives Leonard a few days to rest, even if Golden State might not even care, at least, it would be good for NBA fans that he does get to play.

Pick and Prediction: San Antonio will keep it close(r) than in Game 2. But, they’ll still lose. Once the line comes out there might be an opportunity to bet ATS, we’ll see.
