Bet on the Spurs?
Despite the absence of Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs continued on a roll and very much unscathed in their game against the Sacramento Kings, who they defeated 114-104. They’re now on a nine game winning streak and could extend it to ten if they win over the Thunder tonight.
San Antonio decided to rest Leonard against the Kings, but will be on floor to face OKC. Leonard has been on fire as of late, putting up an incredible 30 plus points in four consecutive games, also averaging 33 points, 8 boards, and 4.5 dishes.
Aldridge is also set to play tonight and should provide a deadly combo that did well in the Spurs last game against the Thunder. Between the two they scored 61 points on OKC to finish with a 108-94 win back in January. However, San Antonio hasn’t done well at Oklahoma City, only winning 3-13 SU over the span of 16 games there. Nevertheless, the absence of Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka in the Thunder’s ranks will probably make a huge difference in tonight’s outcome.
Bet on the Thunder?
March hasn’t been forgiving for the Thunder. This month they’ve lost four in a row and the prospect of winning tonight looks hard. Their four losses came at the hands of the Blazers (114-109), Suns (118-111), Mavericks (104-89) on the road, and then to the Blazers (126-121) at home.
Against Portland, though Russell Westbrook added 58 points to his numbers, it still wasn’t enough to avoid the loss. However, the losses cannot be attributed to Westbrook, who’s been putting up at least 40 points on average this month. Westbrook will get some help though in this game as shooting guard Victor Oladipo will be back from injury. The Thunder will also have Enes Kanter back and Taj Gibson who should provide size and strength in the paint.
