Insider NBA Betting Tips

The NBA Finals are a little over a week away, which means the league will soon crown a new champion, because the two teams that participated in the finals for the past two consecutive years are not going to be in the Finals this season.
With the NBA Finals approaching, there will be plenty of opportunities to place wagers, and we will help you make smart bets that will cover the spread, by providing you with some NBA betting tips.

During the past week, four teams have been playing in their respective conference championships, and by the looks of things, both series will be over in the next few days.

In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers hold a 3-0 lead over the Atlanta Hawks, and will be playing game four at home, which gives them a great opportunity to close out the Hawks in four games.

Before the series began, every online sportsbook had the Cavaliers winning the series, but nobody expected it to be this easy.

The Hawks won the regular season series between the two teams 3-1, and finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference, which led many to believe this was going to be a close series.
The Cavaliers were also dealing with injuries going into the Eastern Conference Finals, with All Star Kevin love out for the rest of the playoffs after suffering a shoulder injury, and fellow All Star Kyrie Irvin dealing with injuries that forced him to miss the last two games against the Hawks.

Despite the fact that they were shorthanded, LeBron James showed the basketball world why he is considered the best player in the NBA, by leading his team to three straight wins against the best team in the conference.

If the Cavaliers are able to defeat the Hawks, which they most likely will, James will be going to his fifth straight NBA Finals, putting him in the same company with Hall of Famer Bill Russell, who made it to eight consecutive NBA Finals.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors were the favorites going into their Western Conference Finals series against the Houston Rockets, because they finished the season with the best record in the NBA, and had defeated the Rockets 4-0 during the regular season.

The first two games of the series were very close games that came down to the final minute, but the Warriors prevailed in both games. When the series moved to Houston, the Warriors dominated the Rockets in game 3, and won the game by 35 points.
They were poised to sweep the Rockets in game 4, but Houston responded with a big game, especially from MVP runner Up James Harden, who had 45 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, to lead his team to victory.

They will be trying to make it two wins in a row when they play game 5, but they will have a tough task ahead of them, because the Warriors only lost three games at home all year.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors firmly in command of their respective series, it is only fair to assume that they are both going to win them, and advance to the NBA Finals to play each other, because no team has come back to win a playoff series in the NBA after falling behind 3-0.

During the regular season, the two teams split the two game series they played 1-1, with both teams winning on their home court. LeBron James missed the first meeting, which was won by the Warriors, but he was available for the second meeting and had 42 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Stephen Curry had an off night, and finished the game with 18 points and 6 assists.

Once the NBA Finals begin, all eyes will once again be on LeBron James and league MVP Stephen Curry. The fact that they finished with the second best record in the NBA, and they are going against the team with the best record in the league this season, will make the Cavaliers the underdogs going into this series with the Warriors.

This is an advantage for people that want to place bets, because they will have favorable NBA spreads against the Warriors throughout the series, and if history has taught us anything, a team with LeBron James on it is should never be considered an underdog because of how good he is.
If the point spread favors the Warriors in the first two games of the series, which it most likely will, place a bet on the Cavaliers, because they will win at least one of those games.

Some other NBA betting tips involve betting on NBA player props and future bets. With the player props, avoid placing bets on props like which player will score the first basket, or if the first points of the game will be a field goal or free throw.

The reason to avoid them is that they are really a crapshoot, and the odds of you winning them are low. Instead, you should bet on props that will make you money, like the player that will score the most points in the game, or the player that will win the NBA Finals MVP.

These are easier to predict, because the player that led the team in scoring during the season always has the best odds of scoring the most points and winning the Finals MVP.

When it comes to high paying bets on the NBA Finals, the future bets are the best way to go. With future bets, you can pick which team will win the series before it begins, which gives you better odds because no games have been played yet.

Once the series begins, sportsbooks adjust the odds according to what is happening in the series, which decreases the payout. With these two teams, the odds are going to be pretty close, so be sure to pick a winner before the Finals begin.

These betting tips should help you make some well informed decisions when the NBA Finals begin, and also help you with some of your other sports wagers in the future.
