The Huskies take on BYU at home hoping to avoid the same fate Big Ten powerhouse #6 Wisconsin suffered at their hands when they lost 24-21 at Camp Randall Stadium. Will the Huskies avoid a loss and cover the big -17.5 spread posted in the college football lines?

Why Bet on BYU?

It didn’t come as a surprise that the Cougars beat FCS McNeese, 30-3, on Saturday. But, you should question why it took BYU so long to get things going in that game, especially considering they trailed the Cowboys 3-0 at the end of the first period.

Quarterback Tanner Mangum didn’t impress and only passed for 118 yards on 15-of-25 completions with a touchdown and zero interceptions, however, this was enough to beat the McNeese.

The Cougars ground attack was a bit better and rushed for 161 yards and two scores. It was BYU’s ground attack that led to their win over No. 6 Wisconsin back in Week 3, so expect the Cougars to stick to what’s worked for them against the Huskies.

Why Bet on Washington?

After ousting visiting Arizona State, 27-20, last weekend, the Washington Huskies appeared to have bounced back from a disappointing opening-week loss to Auburn.

The Huskies should be able to continue their hot streak this weekend as they host BYU. Washington opened as a 16.5-point favorite led by quarterback Jake Browning, who passed for 202 yards with three touchdowns on 15-of-22 completions against Arizona State. Browning didn’t get picked off for the first time this season so it appears he’s gotten in some sort of flow to get him through their game against the Cougars.

It was Washington’s defense though that was critical in their win over the Sun Devils. Washington held ASU to only 268 total yards and zero passing touchdowns, bringing the team’s average to 154.0 passing yards allowed per game – second best in the Pac-12.

Against the run, the Huskies are 60th in the nation, keeping opponents to 145.0 rushing yards per game which will be critical against the run-heavy Cougars offense.
