Week 7 College Football Odds, Top Picks & Predictions

Week 6 of the 2018 NCAA football season saw the Sooners lose the Red River Showdown to Texas in one of the most interesting games of last week. This week, the college football lines have a couple of good matchups, so let’s jump right into things and take a look at those games.

Week 7 College Football Odds, Top Picks & Predictions

No. 15 Wisconsin at No. 12 Michigan (-7.5)

  • October 13, 2018, 7:30 PM ET; Michigan Stadium.

Could this be a preview of the Big Ten Championship game? It could, especially if Michigan ends up winning because the Badgers compete in the much weaker West Division and could still get through even if they lose. Both teams have a non-conference loss though they’re unbeaten in the Big Ten which means that a loss effectively ends the loser’s chances of playing in the College Football Playoff.

Wisconsin just won over Nebraska, 42-24. The Badgers though will have to start without safety Scott Nelson, who was ejected from the game due to a targeting penalty. This will complicate things for Wisconsin because a number of defensive players could also miss out due to injury. Cornerbacks Deron Harrell (upper body) and Caesar Williams (left leg), defensive end Isaiah Loudermilk (left leg), and outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (right leg) are all questionable for the game.

On offense, Wisconsin phenom Jonathan Taylor has racked up 849 rushing yards so far this season and is the nation’s leading rusher. Taylor ran for 221 yards and three scores, including a career-best 88-yarder in the fourth quarter, to lead the win over the Cornhuskers.

The Badgers earned their 17th straight regular season Big Ten win (the nation’s longest active conference win streak). Wisconsin is 31-5 (.861) in Big Ten play over the last 5 seasons (since 2014).

On the other side, Michigan defeated Maryland 42-21 on Saturday. The offense piled on 465 yards, had 24 first downs and went 9-of-13 on third down, led by quarterback Shea Patterson who threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns.

Tailback Karan Higdon had his fourth consecutive game in which he tallied more than 100 rushing yards, while tight end Zach Gentry led the way in receiving, bringing in seven passes for 112 yards.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan Wolverines Betting Trends

  • Wisconsin is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
  • Wisconsin is 18-2 SU in its last 20 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Wisconsin's last 6 games
  • Michigan is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
  • Michigan is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games at home
  • Michigan is 16-2 SU in its last 18 games at home

Pick: Take Michigan ATS to cover.

No. 7 Washington at No. 17 Oregon (+3.5)

  • October 13, 2018, 3:30 PM ET; Autzen Stadium

This is probably the biggest game in the Pac-12 North Division. If Washington wins, they’ll likely win the division. The Huskies defeated UCLA, 31-24, Saturday in Pasadena and saw Myles Gaskin rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns, while QB Jake Browning passed for 265 yards and one TD. Browning also ran for a score and helped his team earn a spot in the Rose Bowl.

The Huskies are a solid defensive team under head coach Chris Petersen and they continue to keep teams under a lid this year, allowing on 13.7 points per game.

If you’re playing this game, Washington is probably your best bet as they’ve dominated the Ducks in the all-time series with 60 wins, 45 losses, and five ties. However, the Ducks lead the series 17-13 in games played in Eugene, Oregon and have also won 17 of the last 23 against the Huskies.

Oregon is coming off a bye, which should have helped some of their players recover from injuries including starting defensive end Austin Faoliu, who will be available for this game. starting tight end Jacob Breeland is also expected back this week and running back Darrian Felix “should” be back Tuesday or Wednesday.

Washington Huskies vs. Oregon Ducks Betting Trends

  • Washington is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games
  • Washington is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Washington's last 6 games
  • Oregon is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Oregon is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Oregon's last 7 games

Pick: Take Washington ATS
