Should You Bet on the Tigers?

The clouds of defeat are looming on the horizon for the Tigers, and they’re crimson-colored. The Alabama Crimson Tide is the Tigers’ Achilles heel; LSU has lost eight straight games overall while holding the Tigers to just ten total points in their last three meetings.

However, the Tigers’ offense has dramatically changed from previous seasons, and it’s deadly-dangerous this year. After ending 66th last year in passing offense, LSU is now second in the country heading into this game.

The key has been quarterback Joe Burrow, who’s thrown 30 touchdowns and three rushing scores this season. That’s a far cry from how he fared against Alabama last year when he only put up 184 yards, cero touchdowns, and one interception.

Last 3 Head-to-Head Record

  • Score: 3.33
  • Rush Yds.: 65.33
  • Pass Attempts: 30.00
  • Completion %: 48.89
  • Passing Yds. 143.67
  • Total Yds. 209
  • Turnovers: 1.00

Should You Bet on the Crimson Tide?

The thing to remember is that Alabama is keeping whether quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will play a tight secret. The news is so essential the line could move on any update that comes out on his status.

Tagovailoa is arguably the one key to winning this game for Alabama. The Heisman Trophy candidate is still recovering from ankle surgery but is expected to play this weekend.

Winning this game is enormous for Alabama, given its weak strength of schedule. A loss could lose them a spot in the College Football Playoff to other marquee one-loss teams.

The Tide seems to have LSU’s number and has won their last ten games. However, this year’s Tigers have switched things up, and they’re now more reliant on the passing attack, which has proved successful.

Alabama has the better defense of the two teams on paper, though the stats are close. The Tide is second in the league in both scoring defense (15.2) and passing-efficiency defense (180.1) and third in total defense (307.5). But, can they hold back LSU quarterback Joe Burrow? They could, especially now that linebacker Terrell Lewis is back in the fold.
