Betting on the Chargers?

This game is a repeat of last season’s preseason opener. However, you might not see many of the starters, some because head coach Anthony Lynn will rest, such as Philip Rivers, others because of other reasons altogether.

Such is the case of running back Melvin Gordon, who’s still holding out because of a contract dispute. The Chargers might not miss Gordon, however as Austin Ekeler is stepping into Gordon’s shoes and should do well.

The Chargers are heading into the preseason having had a very successful campaign last year. Los Angeles went 12-4 last season and seem ready to go with backup Tyrod Taylor set to start in this game. Cardale Jones and fifth-round draft pick Easton Stick should also see some time on the field.

Betting on the Cardinals?

There’s a renewed sense of confidence in Arizona now that Kliff Kingsbury is taking the reins. Though Kingsbury has never coached in the NFL, his time as the coach at Texas Tech gives a glimpse into how he’ll run the offense, and it’s something that should suit Kyler Murray, David Johnson, and Christian Kirk.

The Heisman Trophy winner, Kyler Murray, will not likely see much playing time but at least it should help him get mentally ready for the grueling regular season.

Team Offensive Stats

  • Total Score: 14.06
  • Passing Yards: 157.69
  • Rushing Yards: 83.94
  • Time on Field: 26:33
