With the start of the NFL season a little over a month away, fans are excited about their team’s chances of winning the Super Bowl.

Unlike other leagues like the NBA and NHL, the NFL can be quite unpredictable, and a team that went 4-12 last season has a good chance to make it to the Super Bowl.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are predicted to win six games this season.

Last season, the team went 7-9, which led to the team firing head coach Rex Ryan.

Sean McDermott was hired in Ryan’s stead, but many of this year’s players were drafted or signed under Ryan which opens up the question of whether or not McDermott can make things work and players can fit under his scheme.

Offensively, Buffalo has enough weapons to compete with most teams, with players like Tyrod Taylor, LeSean McCoy, and Sammy Watkins.

Also, the addition of wide receiver Zay Jones could immediately impact the offense. The newest Bills player is favored as the rookie that can have the most receiving yards this season. Jones finished his collegiate career with 399 receptions, an FBS record, 4,279 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns.

However, the team has been plagued with injuries the past couple of seasons, especially Watkins, which has led to inconsistency.

Defensively, the Bills will be switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense, which means some of the players that were brought in during Ryan’s stint will be playing out of their natural positions.

The Bills open against the Jets at home, which should be an easy win. They then travel to Carolina to face the Panthers, a team McDermott knows well.

Things get hairy around Week 6, when they face the Bucs and Raiders at home and a slew of games that include the Jets, Saints, Chargers, Chiefs, and let’s not forget the Patriots and Dolphins.

With other teams in the division getting better in the offseason, the predicted six wins seems about right.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are projected to win 7.5 games this season. This means that the Dolphins should be one of the worst teams in the AFC.

This seems low for a team that made the playoffs last season and won 10 games.

The Dolphins weren’t big players in free agency, but the team locked up their key positions and are essentially returning the same team that won 10 games last year.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill should be able to improve his game under Adam Gase, and he has plenty of good wideouts in the likes of Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills to drive the air attack.

Jay Ajayi is another player who could make waves. Last year, he ripped the running game and as long as he’s healthy he’ll be a good weapon in the Dolphins’ ground game.

The Dolphins also improved their defense through the draft, spending their top three picks on defensive players they feel can make an immediate impact this season.

Miami’s schedule also favors them with two games against the Jets before their bye and a game against the Bills that could be challenging but is still a good chance to win.

Even if quarterback Ryan Tannehill regresses this season, I just don’t see Miami winning less than eight games this year.

New York Jets

The Jets are projected to win 4.5 games this season. After losing most of their best players through trades or free agency, it has been widely acknowledged in NFL circles that the Jets will be one of the worst, if not the worst team in the NFL this season.

The Jets will start an inexperienced quarterback that has questionable accuracy, their top running back is 31-years-old and in the back nine of his career, and the team is actively shopping their best defensive players.

Running back Bilal Powell gets a shot at making somewhat of a splash this season, but the odds are stacked against him with a team like this.

First round pick safety Jamal Adams might move the needle in his rookie year, but he’s got his work cut out for him if Leonard Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson don’t contribute.

Playing in the AFC East also isn’t going to help the Jets because they have to play the Patriots and Dolphins twice. With so much chaos surrounding the team, I don’t see them winning five games.

Over/Under Prediction: UNDER 5 Tweet: The #Jets are bad, they won't win more than five games tops. https://ctt.ec/h6n2Z+

New England Patriots

The defending Super Bowl champs are projected to win 12.5 games. A season after going 14-2 despite quarterback Tom Brady missing four games, it seems feasible that the Patriots will win more than 13 games.

If you consider that they’ve won no less than 12 games since 2009, picking the over shouldn’t be too hard.

However, the Patriots have a tougher schedule this year and will once again have big targets on their backs.

Every game prior to the bye week is against a potential playoff team, except for the Jets, of course, which are always a bitter rival nevertheless. From early November through December 17, they’ll only have one game at Foxborough which has to be brutal for any team no matter how good they are.

New England did add some great talent to their ranks. Branding Cooks, Dwayne Allen and Mike Gillislee will make a difference in an already powerful offense.

On defense, the Pats took on Stephon Gilmore and both Malcolm Butler and Dont’a Hightower are staying.

New England also has to deal with an improved Dolphins team, and there are no guarantees they will win the division again this year.

The Patriots will certainly make a run for the Super Bowl once more this year. I just don’t believe they’ll win all 16 games as some people are bantering about.
