BetPhoenix Top Three NFL Week 3 ATS Picks

You are here

Lions at Eagles 2019

There are plenty of storylines in Week 3, including two 20-plus point spreads. The money is still coming in on the games, but there are still a few bets you can jump on to beat the spread. We’ve picked our best ATS bets, keep reading to get them.

Giants at Buccaneers

  • When: September 22, 2019, 4:05 PM ET
  • Where: Raymond James Stadium
  • NFL Odds: Buccaneers -6
  •  Over/Under: 48
  • Moneyline: Giants +225  vs. Buccaneers -265

Analysis: The Giants announced that Daniel Jones would replace Eli Mannings as the team’s starting quarterback. But, regardless of whether Jones improves the Giants offense, their defense sucks.

Yes, Manning hasn’t done anything to have kept his job, and it’s no wonder he was axed after failing to help his team score more than 17 points in either of the first two games.

But, it’s the Giants defense that will suffer against a Tampa Bay offense that has started to pick up and perform. Not that Jameis Winston has been spectacular, but he’s been decent enough.

Betting Trends

  • NY Giants are 1-4 ATS in their last five games.
  • NY Giants are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games against Tampa Bay.
  • Tampa Bay is 7-13 ATS in their last 20 games played in September.
  • Tampa Bay is 1-5 ATS in their last six games when playing at home against NY Giants.

Pick: Buccaneers -6

Texans at Chargers

  • When: September 22, 2019, 4:25 PM ET
  • Where: Dignity Health Sports Park
  • NFL Odds: Chargers -3
  • Over/Under: 48.5
  • Moneyline: Texans +150 vs. Chargers -170

Analysis: Somehow, the Chargers lost to the Lions in Week 2, but they’re not that bad. I think Los Angeles is underrated, and I don’t fall into all of the hype surrounding Houston.

While Houston had a grueling test against New Orleans in Week 1, their second game was a letdown. The Texans were lucky to win over the Jaguars, and if it weren’t for the defense coming up big in stopping a two-point conversion attempt by Jacksonville, they would have probably lost the game.

Betting Trends

  • Houston is 0-6 ATS in their last six games against LA Chargers
  • Houston is 3-8 ATS in their previous 11 games played in week 3.
  • LA Chargers are 16-2-2 ATS in their last 20 games against an opponent in the AFC South division.
  • LA Chargers are 10-3 SU in their last 13 games at home.

Pick: Chargers -3

Lions at Eagles

  • When: September 22, 2019, 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Lincoln Financial Field
  • NFL Odds: Eagles -5
  • Over/Under: 45.5
  • Moneyline: Lions +195 vs. Eagles -235

Analysis: The Lions have a long way to go to be a good team. But, the Eagles are a pretty banged up team, and six points is giving away too much.

For the second week in a row, the Eagles played horribly in the first half in their game against the Falcons on Sunday night. Carson Wentz had a tough time and only threw for 231 passing yards with two interceptions. The Eagles are overrated.

It’s not that the Lions are great, but they somehow beat the Chargers last week. Detroit has improved, and the line is not giving them enough credit.

Betting Trends

  • Detroit is 4-2 ATS in their last six games.
  • Detroit is 1-5 ATS in their last six games when playing on the road against Philadelphia.
  • Philadelphia is 0-5 ATS in their last five games played in September.
  • Philadelphia is 5-2 SU in their last seven games.

Pick: Lions +6
