Dolphins vs. Steelers 2019

How To Bet Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Though the Steelers are 2-4, they’re a double-digit favorite over the hapless Dolphins.
  • The Dolphins may be on the upswing after coming off of the best performance of the season, almost upsetting the Bills with Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the offense.

Neither of these teams is having a good season, but the Steelers opened as two-touchdown favorites over the Dolphins. However, does Pittsburgh have enough juice in them to cover? Keep reading to find out.

Should You Bet on the Dolphins?

Though I wouldn’t throw money away by betting on the Dolphins to pull off an upset, Miami improved in their last game, almost beating the Bills with Fitzpatrick at the helm.

However, 14 points might be stretching things too much for the Steelers. The Steelers might push for a big lead in the first half of the game, but Miami has an opening to catch up in the second half given that Pittsburgh is giving up 13 PPG.

Ryan Fitzpatrick also performed well against the Bills last week, hitting DeVante Parker for a touchdown that gave the Dolphins a 14-9 halftime lead. However, Miami also needs to improve on avoiding turnovers, which hurt them in their game against Buffalo, turning into 14 points.

Should You Bet on the Steelers?

Mason Rudolph seems fine after getting knocked out and suffering a concussion a few weeks back. Rudolph was getting good numbers averaging 178 pass yards per game with five touchdowns and only one interception over three games played.

Both teams have been awful on offense, but the Steelers are slightly better, bringing 276.5 total yards per game. Pittsburgh should also do well in the ground game as Miami has allowed 160.8 rush yards per game and 114 RYPG over their last three games.

The Steelers are also coming off a bye week, so they should be well-rested and have no problem at home against an awful Miami team.

Insider Prediction:   Miami’s defense is pathetic. With Mason Rudolph leading the Steelers’ offense, Pittsburgh shouldn’t have a problem winning this game. But 14 points is too much to cover for Pittsburgh.
