NFL Week 1 Betting Odds and Matchups

The NFL 2020 season is right around the corner, and with the NFL comes football betting action. This season will be different from any we've seen as fans will be either limited or out of the question, but we can rest assured the NFL will deliver on the gridiron from week 1.

Speaking of, here's our Week 1 preview for the NFL Season!  Register an account at BetPhoenix Online Sportsbook and take advantage of our NFL Dual Action Pack bonus.

NFL KickOff: Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

The last time these two met, we saw a TD-Fest as they put 82 points combined in Kansas City's comeback win after trailing 24-0 in the Divisional Round. The battle of QBs was superb. Patrick Mahomes put a shocking 5 TD passes and 321 yards, while Deshaun got three total TD and 388 yards.

However, while the Chiefs are intact in their roster, the Texans did an awful job in the offseason trading away elite wideout DeAndre Hopkins for a past-his-prime, expensive RB David Johnson.

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots (-6)

Patriots lead the way in the spread, but both teams are facing massive changes in their roster. While New England will see how new QB1 Cam Newton behaves under center, Miami will pressure him with his revamped defense. The game is on Foxborough, so while the upset is not out of the question, mainly because Miami has been a pain in New England's backside, the Pats know they need to start strong.

Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens (-8)

The Ravens are one of the AFC's top contenders and are favorites against divisional rivals the Browns, who have high expectations following the appointment of new Head Coach Kevin Stefansky. Both are very talented teams, but Baltimore is an established project, while Cleveland is still figuring how to manage their talents. Sleeper game.

New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills (-6.5)

Last season's Week 1 encounter between the two ended in a 17-16 comeback win for the Bills. However, Buffalo looks determined to steal the AFC East title while the Jets, well... They are still a highly dysfunctional franchise.

Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5) @ Carolina Panthers

Carolina is in for a long season, apart from Christian McCaffrey, there's little to no talent in the team, and they have a rookie HC in Matt Rhule. The Panthers used all -yes, all- their draft picks on the defensive side, so chemistry may not be quite ready in week 1. Las Vegas has a better side, but Derek Carr hasn't had much time to work with his new weapons.

Seattle Seahawks (-1) @ Atlanta Falcons

Russell Wilson was plethorical last season, and the Seahawks have strengthened their defense with top S Jamal Adams. That's a game-changer who can come in handy from the get-go against a primarily passing offense like the Falcons one.

Atlanta has two new weapons in RB Todd Gurley and TE Hayden Hurst to join forces with Julio Jones and Matt Ryan. This game could have plenty of points.

Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions (-3)

Tricky one... It is unclear who will be the Bears QB starting in Week 1, but a more intriguing matchup is what the Bears elite defense can do against a stacked offense in Detroit. Stafford has the arm and weapons, and if he is fit enough, he can cause trouble, but the Bears have Khalil Mack and a terrifying front seven to massacre anyone behind the O-Line.

Indianapolis Colts (-7.5) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have no business competing this year as their tank season is upon us. Indianapolis has Philip Rivers as their QB1 and will be behind NFL's best O-Line. The Colts look for a big W to start the season, and from the Jaguars, we can hope second-year QB Gardner Minshew can deliver a few highlights, but nothing more.

Los Angeles Chargers (-3) @ Cincinnati Bengals

Tyrod Taylor is the confirmed starter for the Chargers so that we won't see two of the top rookie QBs battle in week 1. However, the Chargers are looking for redemption after a disaster of a season last year, and their defense will be a nightmare for #1 Draft pick Joe Burrows in his NFL debut. Spotlight's on.

Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers (-7)

Arizona is a certified dark horse in the NFC West, but they have a tough season debut as they visit the Super Bowl LIV runner-ups in the Bay. The 49ers didn't have much to offer in the offseason while Arizona did. Still, the Niners are a top team in the NFL, and the Cardinals are just getting their first steps into higher expectations.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (-3.5)

The game to watch in week 1 is, for sure, Tom Brady's debut vs. Drew Brees at the Dome in NOLA. Both teams are Super Bowl contenders. Can the Bucs put aside their lack of chemistry and defeat a team who has struggled in the early goings in recent seasons but have their core very established? We'll see in the gridiron.

SNFDallas Cowboys (-2.5) @ Los Angeles Rams

The Cowboys are preparing for their first season in more than a decade with a new Head Coach. Mike McCarthy is at the sidelines now, and his work will be tested against a very tough matchup in the Rams. Sean McVay's offense is always pretty to watch, and they have Aaron Donald, and Jalen Ramsey at D. Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliott have a great challenge to beat in week 1.

Monday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers (-4.5) @ New York Giants

The Steelers have Big Ben Roethlisberger back, so their offense is now something you need to watch out. Oh yes, and they have one of the best defensive units in football.

The Giants reinforced their defense, but their offense will depend on what second-year QB Daniel Jones can do. Jones had 18 fumbles last season while the Steelers were the second-best at forcing fumbles last season with 22.

Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos (-1.5)

AFC's runner-up Tennessee will debut against a Denver side that has improved massively in the offseason. Can rushing champion Derrick Henry and newly extended Ryan Tannehill get the W against Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, and AJ Bouye?

Drew Lock has new weapons available, but the Titans secondary has the talent to make Lock pay for any mistakes. This is also a sleeper game in Week 1.
