Are You Betting on the Seahawks?

Quarterback Russell Wilson is putting up MVP numbers, ranking third in the NFL with 2,505 passing yards, 22 touchdown passes and just one interception this season. Wilson will also get a new target in the recently acquired wide receiver Josh Gordon.

The Seahawks were coming off a problematic overtime win over Tampa Bay last week. Wilson passed for 378 yards and five touchdowns, but it’ll be hard to score against the Niners’ league-best pass defense that has allowed 118 pass yards per game over the past three contests.

Wide receivers Tyler Lockett and rookie D.K. Metcalf combined for 49 catches, 275 receiving yards and three touchdowns last Sunday. The addition of Gordon to the fold should give the Seahawks an edge in the air attack.

Are You Betting on the 49ers?

San Francisco’s most consistent pass-catcher, George Kittle, will not play in this game. Kittle leads the 49ers with 46 catches and 541 receiving yards this season.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo may have trouble moving the chains without Kittle, but he could go with Emmanuel Sanders, who, in his third week with the offense, has caught 14 passes in two games.

The short week took its toll on the famed 49ers defense. San Francisco allowed Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake to rush for 110 yards on 7.3 yards per carry. The Seahawks have the eighth-ranked rush offense that is averaging 132 yards per game, so San Francisco must improve this aspect of their game.

Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 13 of Seattle's last 18 games.
  • Seattle is 5-1 SU in their last six games.
  • Seattle is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against San Francisco.
  • San Francisco is 5-1 SU in their last six games at home.
  • San Francisco is 1-4 SU in their last five games when playing at home against Seattle.
  • San Francisco is 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games against an opponent in the NFC conference.

Insider Prediction:  The loss of George Kittle is a big blow to the 49ers’ offense. Kittle’s absence will hinder San Francisco for putting up points and will give Seattle an opening to stay in the game. The 49ers win but won’t cover.

Pick: Seahawks +6
