Super Bowl LI MVP Odds & Pick

By far, the Super Bowl is the largest betting event of all year. In fact, every NFL-related event has become a primetime show with the Super Bowl taking the cake. But, apart from betting on the Super Bowl itself, along with the slew of Super Bowl prop bets over anything you can imagine, there’s one bet on my mind which I’d like to touch upon: That of the Super Bowl MVP recipient, would you like to know who will win MVP this year?

Top Candidates To Win Super Bowl LI According Las Vegas Oddsmakers

  • Tom Brady 6/5
  • Matt Ryan 9/5
  • Julio Jones 6/1
  • Devonta Freeman 12/1
  • LeGarrette Blount 15/1
  • Tevin Coleman 18/1
  • Chris Hogan 20/1

First, a disclosure. It’s likely that whichever team wins, that quarterbacks tend to get this award. So be it that you’re a Patriots or Falcons fan, your safest bet is probably over either Tom Brady or Matt Ryan.

Now, this doesn’t mean that any other of the candidates can win it, which is why I wrote this article so that you might pick a winner in your prop bets.

Onward to the discussion.

  • Tom Brady: Of course Brady is among the top candidates to win the award and it shouldn’t surprise you (it certainly wouldn’t surprise him, he has three already). Suffice to say that if he puts up two or three touchdowns and passes for over 200 yards, this is a solid bet.
  • Matt Ryan: The Atlanta signal caller by all accounts deserves credit for the Falcons’ success this year. Not only is he the assumed regular season MVP, if the Falcons win, he’ll likely also get the game MVP.
  • Julio Jones: There’s good reason to believe that if any non-quarterback is going to win MVP it’s probably going to be Jones. Now, Jones will have a hard time trying to make catches because of all the pressure he’s likely going to get from the Patriots D. But, he’s still a good bet to go with.
  • Mohamed Sanu: The reason why this is a good bet, is because of what I stated above. With Malcolm Butler sticking to Julio Jones like white on rice, Sanu will become Ryan’s likely target of choice. If Sanu turns into an X factor for the Falcons you can bet that he’ll become a good bet to make.
  • Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman: The pair of Falcons’ running backs may be a long shot and the chances are neither will get the majority of the burden in running. They’ll likely have a similar performance, so take your pick.
  • Chris Hogan: Though Jones is getting plenty of focus these days, Hogan is one Belichick’s great finds and the star in the AFC Championship game where he caught 9 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. If he has another performance as such, he’ll be a solid bet.
  • LeGarrette Blount: The Pats’ workhorse can really make a difference in eating up time on the clock and controlling the flow of the game. At 20/1 he’s not a bad bet.
