Patriots vs. Dolphins Week 2 2019

Week 2 of the NFL regular season is on fire with a full slate of games on the board to pick. Here are BetPhoenix's top three Week 3 ATS picks.

Patriots at Dolphins

  • When: September 15, 2019, 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Hard Rock Stadium
  • NFL Odds:  Patriots -19
  • Over/Under: 48
  • Moneyline: Patriots -1600 vs. Dolphins +1025

Analysis: The Dolphins have been the Pat’s Achilles Heel over the years. Last year, New England’s last-second loss to Miami even cost them home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

But, with Antonio Brown now in the fold, there are good reasons to believe Miami won’t be a problem for the Patriots. The Patriots are a three-touchdown favorite at the time of this writing.

Keep in mind also the Dolphins are just coming off a humiliating 59-10 to Baltimore, and the Patriots don't forgive so they’ll try to rub some salt into that wound.

Miami won’t want another loss at home, however, or, at least, they won’t want to be crushed by another blowout loss. The problem is, Miami’s roster is awful, and the word is many veterans were even asking for trades after their Week 1 loss.

If Miami’s players do have any sense of honor though, they’ll do what it takes to get the job done. I think the Dolphins will stay in the game and cover.

Betting Trends

  • New England is 5-0 ATS in their last five games.
  • New England is 6-3 ATS in their last nine games against Miami.
  • Miami is 1-4 ATS in their last five games.
  • Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last six games when playing at home against New England.

Pick: Dolphins +19

49ers at Bengals

  • When September 15, 2019, 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Paul Brown Stadium
  •  NFL Odds: Bengals -1.5
  • Over/Under: 45
  • Moneyline: 49ers +110 vs. Bengals -130

Analysis: The 49ers slapped the Buccaneers with a 31-17 defeat as 1-point road dogs. This game will be their second on the road in a row, but San Francisco’s performance in their first game makes it seem that the Bengals don’t really have a home-field advantage.

San Francisco defended well against Tampa Bay, returning two interceptions for scores while helping the offense that seriously sucked. The 49ers will have to play better to win against the Bengals, but they can win.

It’s Andy Dalton’s ninth season with the Bengals, but he’s been an on-and-off quarterback for the team. Dalton managed to connect with wide receiver John Ross against the Seahawks which turned into a win for Cinci in the first game.

Like I said above, if the 49ers don’t improve on offense, the Bengals can win this game. But, it’s a hard call if San Francisco does play well offensively because of its formidable defense.

Betting Trends

  • San Francisco is 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games against Cincinnati.
  • San Francisco is 4-1 ATS in their last five games against an opponent in the AFC conference.
  • Cincinnati is 5-0 ATS in their last five games.
  • Cincinnati is 1-5 ATS in their last six games at home.

Pick: 49ers +1.5

Cardinals at Ravens

  • When: September 15, 2019, 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: M&T Bank Stadium
  • NFL Odds: Ravens -13.5
  • Over/Under: 46.5
  • Moneyline: Cardinals +535 vs. Ravens -700

Analysis: Baltimore is probably riding on a high after crushing the Dolphins 59-10 in Week 1. It’s also the reason why the total on this game opened at 42.5 but is now 46.5, this offense is kick-ass.

Lamar Jackson shut down the naysayers who criticized his awful 14-for-20 performance vs. the Chargers in last year’s playoffs. And, Jackson did it in the only way that counts, by handing the Dolphins with five touchdowns and putting up 324 yards in the process.

Baltimore’s performance was record-breaking the Ravens ended the game with single-game franchise records in points, total yards, and first-half points, along with breaking the league record for most points in the first half of a Week 1 game.

The Cardinals didn’t look right until the latter part of their Week 1 game against the Lions. But, they did manage a late-game score to end things with a tie in OT.

As impressive as Baltimore’s offense is playing, I think that if Arizona does fall behind, they can pull off another comeback. But, I don’t think the Ravens will put 14 points on the Cardinals

Betting Trends

  • Arizona is 4-2 ATS in their last six games against Baltimore.
  • Arizona is 4-1 ATS in their last five games when playing on the road against Baltimore.
  • Baltimore is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games at home.
  • Baltimore is 13-6 SU in their last 19 games against an opponent in the NFC West division.

Pick: Cardinals +13.5
