You are here

2019 Vikings at Bills Preseason
  • The Vikings have won all their preseason games so far by at least six points. Last week, they beat the Cardinals by a score of 20-9 at home.
  • The Bills have had a good preseason, going 3-0, but their starters haven’t impressed when they’ve been on the field, something to pay attention to when the regular season starts.

Betting Vikings at Bills 2019 Preseason Week 4 Preview

Why Bet on the Vikings?

Under Mike Zimmer, the Vikings have thrived in the preseason and have racked up a 20-4 record. If Minnesota wins this game, he’s looking at the third time he’s gone undefeated.

These two teams have split the past six preseason games both SU and ATS. The last time they played in the preseason, it was the Vikings that won by a score of 17-10 in Buffalo.

However, in 2017, as 16.5-point favorites, the Vikings were crushed 27-6. Whether or not that makes a difference, it’s up for argument, but the Vikings might still have a chip on their shoulders.

Last week, Minnesota beat the Cardinals 20-9 at home. Kirk Cousins went 4 for 4 and picked up 65 yards and a touchdown. Running backs Mike Boone and Dalvin Cook did pretty well, picking up one touchdown each.

Betting on the Bills?

The Bills beat the Lions last Friday 24-20 in Detroit. Josh Allen threw for 49 passing yards on 3 of 8 passing, but don’t expect to see him play in this game.

Matt Barkley threw for 142 yards and a TD on 12 of 14 passing. Barkley will probably get most of the playing time on this one.

The Bills lost a couple of players to injury against the Lions. Namely, guard Quinton Spain and cornerback Tre’Davious White went on the injured list.

Last 3 Head-to-Head Record

  • Score: 19.33
  • Rush Yds.: 110.00
  • Pass Attempts: 30.00
  • Completion %: 67.78
  • Passing Yds. 191.33
  • Total Yds. 301.33

Betting Trends

  • Minnesota is 5-1 ATS in their last six games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Minnesota's last 12 games.
  • Minnesota is 5-1 SU in their last six games.
  • Buffalo is 5-0 ATS in their last five games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Buffalo's last five games.
  • Buffalo is 5-1 SU in their last six games.

Insider Prediction:  I like the Vikings on this one. Sloter has looked good in preseason action, and I expect him to play well in this game, too. The Vikings have much more depth than Buffalo, and I think they’ll pick up their fourth win and cover.

Pick: Vikings -3
