Bet The Caps Twice This Week To Score On Your NHL Picks

NY Rangers at Buffalo
When:  Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Key Bank Center, Buffalo, NY
TV: NBCSN

Analysis: The Rangers went 3 and 1 straight up in their 4 matches before the all-star break. NYR lost 0 to 2 to Philadelphia, a team that they often struggle against, in their final game before all-star weekend. The battle versus Buffalo on Thursday won’t be easy for NYR.

The Sabres dominated the Rangers 4 to 1 in the last match between these two. Since the match took place less than a month ago on Jan. 3, hockey handicappers must figure that Buffalo is going to be ready to put a beat down on NYR again.

I like the Sabres in this match up. I think they beat the Rangers by at least 2 goals again.

Washington at Montreal
When:  Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Bell Centre, Montreal, QC
TV: TSN

Analysis: Montreal has a tenuous lead on first place in the Atlantic Division. As of Jan. 29, the Canadians are 29-14-6-1 while Ottawa is right on their heels at 26-15-5-1.

The last time that Montreal faced Washington, they lost 1 to 4. The match wasn’t that long ago on Jan. 9. Washington appears to have Montreal’s number. Is anything going to change in this battle on Saturday?
I don’t think so. Washington has the number one ranked defense in goals against in NHL. The Capitals allow only 2.1 goals per game. Unless Washington suffers an injury or two before their battle versus Montreal on Feb. 4, they should win outright.

Los Angeles at Washington
When:  Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.
TV: NBC

Analysis: The L.A. Kings go into the week having won their last 2 matches before the all-star break. The Kings battle Arizona, Colorado, and Philadelphia before taking on Washington in D.C. on Super Bowl Sunday. But, the Caps take on Montreal this Saturday before catching a flight and battling L.A. on Sunday at around noon.

That’s a quick turnaround for the Caps but a week off for the All-Star game that just concluded will help the matter. Throw in the fact that NHL handicappers side with L.A. in this game due to the short layover, you should bet the better team.
