Ducks vs Predators Western Conference Finals Game Six Predictions

  • Moneyline: Predators -140 vs Ducks +127

Betting on the Ducks

Game 5 didn’t turn out as expected for the Ducks. Though playing on their home ice, the Ducks lost 3-1 behind poor performances from their main point men, captain Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler.

The Ducks are facing elimination at this point, and now they may have lost goalie John Gibson to injury. Backup Jonathan Bernier took over in Gmae 5, but wound up giving up two goals on 18 shots taken by the Predators. Though Bernier is no stranger to facing Nashville, Gibson’s absence may be a big liability.

On a bright note however, the Ducks have fared well on road games, being 6-2 on the road in the postseason. Even without Gibson minding the goal, Anaheim still has a shot at extending the series to one more game.

Betting on the Predators

The Predators have clawed their way towards their first possible Stanley Cup appearance. Despite not having Ryan Johansen on the ice for the remainder of the season, Nashville held strong in Game 5 behind the performances of Austin Watson and Pontus Aberg who bagged a goal a piece in the win.

Goalie Pekka Rinne continues to be solid minding the goal. In Game 5, Rinne stopped 32 of 33 shots and sports a 1.62 GAA and .942 save percentage.

Game 6 is on Nashville’s home ice, which gives the Preds a huge advantage. Nashville is 10-1 in its last 11 playoff home games, and 7-1 this year. Apart from this, historically teams that have won the fifth game of a 2-2 tied series tend to move ahead in the competition.

Trends

  • Anaheim is 14-6 SU in its last 20 games
  • Anaheim is 8-1 ATS in its last 9 games on the road
  • Anaheim is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games on the road
  • Nashville is 12-5 ATS in its last 17 games
  • Nashville is 11-4 SU in its last 15 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Nashville's last 9 games

Pick and Prediction: The atmosphere at Bridgestone Arena will be hostile to the Ducks to say the least. I don’t see Anaheim being able to hold off the Predators tonight. My bet is on Nashville.
