Deutsche Bank Championship Analysis and Highlights

The Deutsche Bank Championship is the second leg of the PGA Tour playoffs, and it will be taking place at TPC Boston this week. The Barclays, which was the first leg of the Tour playoffs was won By Jason Day on Sunday, giving him his third win in four starts. The tournament didn’t get as much attention as expected, because a lot of people were watching the NFL preseason games that took place over the weekend.

With so many of the biggest names on the PGA Tour expected to play this weekend, we will take a look at the Deutsche Bank Championship odds and make our Deutsche Bank Championship picks as well.

As previously mentioned Jason Day was victorious at the Barclays. He finished the tournament at -19, which was six strokes better than Henrik Stenson, who finished in second place. The win moved him into 1st place in the FedEx standings, and he has a good chance of winning the playoffs if he continues playing as well as he has over the last few weeks.

Deutsch Bank Championship Preview.

There are a lot of big names participating this weekend, so golf fans should expect a very competitive tournament. One of the players that won’t be participating in the event is Sergio Garcia, who is sitting out his second straight playoff tournament for personal reasons. Garcia, who is #31 in the FedEx cup rankings has enough points to play in next week’s BMW Championship if he wants to.

Here is a look at some of the favorites in this tournament, and our Deutsche Bank Championship picks.

Jason Day.

Jason Day is playing the best golf of his career right now, and is going into the tournament as the favorite. Day not only won three of his last four events, he also finished 9th at the U.S. Open and 4th at the Open Championship, which shows he has been playing very well over a long period of time. He just wasn’t getting a lot of attention for his play because of how well Jordan Spieth played earlier this year.

Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy lost his 1st place ranking to Jordan Spieth a few weeks ago, but after Spieth’s performance at the Barclays, McIlroy is back on top of the World Golf Rankings. Since he failed to win a major tournament this year, McIlroy is going to have some motivation to end his season on a high note.

Jordan Spieth.

Spieth already has one of the best seasons a golfer could ever have, but he would love nothing more than to put an exclamation point on his season by winning the FedEx playoffs. He missed the cut at the Barclays, which surprised a lot of people, including Spieth, and he will be trying to bounce back with a win at the Deutsche Bank Championship this weekend.

Henrik Stenson.

Stenson doesn’t have any PGA Tour wins this season, but he played better than a lot of golfers this year, and finished second at the Barclays last week. Stenson has six top 10 finishes in 14 events, and five of those finishes were top 5 finishes. He is currently 4th place in the FedEx standings and has a chance to win it if he keeps playing well.

Predictions for the Deutsche Bank Championship

Now when it comes to golf betting, this is a hard tournament to pick because of how well these men are currently playing. I’m going to pick Jordan Spieth to bounce back from his performance at the Barclays and win this tournament.
