The Boston Celtics are a professional NBA basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics compete in the NBA as a member of the Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division. Their name, colors, and mascot, "Lucky the Leprechaun," are a tribute to the city's large Irish population.
They play their home games at the new Boston Garden, named TD Garden, inaugurated in 1995 to replace the original Boston Garden in the West End Neighborhood. This famous venue is the most visited sports arena in New England, with over 3.5 million visitors per year, as they also are home to the Boston Bruins of the NHL and plenty of big concerts and events.
They joined the NBA in 1946 as one of the original eleven teams that originated the Basketball Association of America. The Celtics are amongst the most successful teams in history. They are one of the only two teams with 17 Championships, together with the Los Angeles Lakers, teams that share a notable rivalry as they have played 12 NBA Finals against each other. Boston also holds the most wins record for any NBA team.
The Celtics rose to dominance in the late 1950s, led by Bill Russell and guard Bob Cousy. He became the basis of this first Celtics dynasty, winning their first championship in 1957, starting the greatest era in their history, with eight consecutive titles between 1959 and 1966. The Celtics became contenders again in the 1970s, under the leadership of Dave Cowens, John Havlicek, and Jo Jo White, winning the 1974 and 1976 championships.
The 1980s were the era of shared dominance with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Celtics stars Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish were known as the "Big Three," as the Lakers' Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, dubbed the "Showtime" Lakers. In this period, the Celtics won three championships in 1981, 1984, and 1986 and lost twice to Los Angeles in the 1985 and 1987 Finals.
After this glorious era, the Celtics struggled through most of the 90s and 00s until they were able to bring together the new "Big Three" of stars Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce to beat the Lakers in the 2008 championship again, but lose it in 2010, the latest championship finals between these archrivals.
After the latest rebuilding period, they became a force again under head coach and now General Manager Brad Stevens and stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. They reached their Conference Finals in 2017, 2018, and 2020, breaking through to the Finals in 2022, losing to the Golden State Warriors.

Boston Celtics Spreads
Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of a Boston Celtics Point Spreads line:
Team Points Spread Odds
- Boston Celtics -7
- Memphis Grizzlies +7
In this case, the line indicates that the Boston Celtics are the favorite to win by a margin of more than seven points against the Memphis Grizzlies. On the other side, the Grizzlies are the underdog and can lose by less than a seven points margin.
A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.
People betting on the Celtics point spreads expect them to win by a margin over than -7 point spread, while people betting on the underdog expect the Grizzlies to lose by less than 7 points to cover the spread.
· Celtics win by eight or more points: Celtics bettors win
· Celtics win by precisely 7 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded
· Celtics win by six points or less: Grizzlies bettors win
· Grizzlies win the game: Grizzlies bettors win
Boston Celtics Moneylines
The Boston Celtics Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and there is a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.
This is an example of a Boston Celtics Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Team Moneyline
- Boston Celtics -300
- Memphis Grizzlies +240
Using this example, the Boston Celtics Moneyline would result as follows:
· Celtics Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Celtics -300, you would need to risk $300.
· Grizzlies Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Grizzlies +240, you would receive $240 if Memphis wins the game.
Celtics Moneylines and Celtics point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.
Boston Celtics Over/Under Totals
The Celtics Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of a Boston Celtics Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Boston Celtics vs. Memphis Grizzlies
- Total: 218.5
- Over odds: -110
- Under odds: -110
For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.
Boston Celtics Parlays
Boston Celtics Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.
You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. Betphoenix will increase your Boston Celtics Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. Celtics parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.
For example, we can combine the Boston Celtics Point Spread of -7 and the Under of 218.5. We can add another set of plays to the Celtics parlay, like three more game spreads, the Charlotte Hornets +8.5 against the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans -1.5 against the Chicago Bulls, and the Dallas Mavericks -5.5 against the Washington Wizards, for a 5-team Celtics Parlay.
- Celtics Spread: -7 -110
- Celtics Totals: Under 218.5 -110
- Hornets Spread: +8.5 -110
- Pelicans Spread: -1.5 -110
- Mavericks Spread: -5.5 -110
This 5-team Celtics Parlay would compound payout odds of +2556, well above 25x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $20 would earn you a payout of $511.33, with these possible outcomes:
· Celtics Point Spread covers, Celtics over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $511.33
· Celtics Point Spread pushes, Celtics over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a 4-team parlay: Win $258.32
· Celtics Point Spread covers, Celtics over/under doesn't cover, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$20
· Celtics Point Spread covers, Celtics over/under covers, and any of the other three lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$20
Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

Boston Celtics Teasers
A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.
Boston Celtics Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:
- 4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
- 7 points Teaser for 3 Teams
- 9 points Teaser for 4 Teams
One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.
Celtics Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.
Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 4-point 5-team Celtics teaser would be as follows:
Original Lines vs. Teased lines (4 points in your favor)
- Celtics Spread: -7 down to -3
- Celtics Totals: Under 218.5 up to 222.5
- Hornets Spread: +8.5 up to +12.5
- Pelicans Spread: -1.5 down to +2.5
- Mavericks Spread: -5.5 down to -1.5
In the hypothetical case of the Celtics winning the game 112-107 (-5/219), the Celtics odds and Under failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 5-team 4-point Celtics Teaser, as they would cover the new -3 point spread, and the Under 222.5 points.
Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

Boston Celtics Odds To Win the Atlantic Division

If they live up to these expectations and repeat last year's splendid season with a new coach and some fresh faces in the roster is still to be resolved, but one thing is for sure, they can't be taken for granted as Boston has a great chance of winning their Division.
Boston Celtics Odds To Win the Eastern Conference Championship
Boston Celtics odds to win the Eastern Conference: +220
Boston starts as a favorite after a successful season where they made the finals, but they only finished as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics stand at the top of the list to win the NBA Championship, only below the Milwaukee Bucks and slightly ahead of the current champions, the Golden State Warriors. On the other hand, despite being a playoff regular, with 14 trips to the playoffs in the last 15 seasons, the Celtics have only won one title in that period.
