The Indiana Pacers are a professional NBA basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Pacers compete in the NBA as a member of the Eastern Conference, Central Division. The Pacers were established in 1967 as a franchise of the ABA and joined the NBA in 1976 as a result of the leagues merging. Their name derives from the state's history with harness horse racing or pace cars, which also gave the name to motor racing's pace cars in the Indianapolis 500's races.

They host their home games at the Bainbridge Fieldhouse since 1999. This indoor venue is located in Downtown Indianapolis and is also home to the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and several college basketball events, including the Big Ten tournaments.

Since its formation, the team was considered a juggernaut. Under former Indiana Hoosier coach Bob Leonard, the Pacers became the most successful team in the ABA, playing in five of their nine Finals before the merge and winning three championships. Things would change with the drafting of future superstar Reggie Miller in 1987, who played his whole 18-year career in Indiana. The Pacers became playoff regulars, accomplishing winning seasons for most of the 90s and early 2000s. With the hiring of former Celtics star and Indiana native Larry Bird as head coach, they continued to improve, making it to the 2000 NBA Finals, which they lost to the Lakers.

Following this success, the Pacers experienced a lot of player turnover, including bringing young forward Jermaine O'Neal on board, who, along with veteran Miller took the team to five straight playoff appearances between 2001 and 2005, which included another loss in the Eastern Conference finals. The Pacers had a four-year playoff drought after Reggie Miller's retirement in 2005, before the next rebuilding effort that took until 2011 to bring them back to the postseason. That young Pacers team, guided by All-Star forward Paul George and center Roy Hibbert made it to the 2013 conference finals, losing to the Heat.

An excellent 2013–14 season where they finished 56-26 earned them the number one seed, making it to another conference finals, where the Heat again eliminated them. Paul George broke his leg that off-season, which meant that the Pacers, missing their superstar, failed to qualify for the 2015 playoffs. They rebounded to qualify for the playoffs for five consecutive seasons, between 2016 and 2020, losing all in the first round. Since 2020 they have been in a rebuilding stage, finishing under .500 in both 2021 and 2022.

How to Bet on the Indiana Pacers

BetPhoenix.ag not only provides you with the best Indiana Pacers Vegas odds, but we also provide you with many helpful tools, like this guide, to help our customers increase their chances of winning and introduce you to all the many moneymaking options available when wagering on the NBA, from the preseason through the NBA Finals.

The Indiana Pacers will count on a much different roster this year. After finishing 13th in the conference, they focused on rebuilding, with eyes to the future, performing a ground-up overhaul. New head coach Rick Carlisle has kept only four members of the last season' 17-men roster in this brand-new team. Their most astonishing trade sent Sabonis to Sacramento in exchange for guards Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield right on the trade deadline.

Placing your Indiana Pacers bets on BetPhoenix thru the NBA basketball season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, especially if you put in some time and research.

Indiana Pacers Spreads

Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of an Indiana Pacers Point Spread line:

Team Points Spread Odds

Indiana Pacers -7

Orlando Magic +7

In this case, the line indicates that the Indiana Pacers are the favorite to win by a margin of more than seven points against the Orlando Magic. On the other side, the Magic are the underdog and can lose by less than a seven-point margin.

A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.

People betting on the Pacers point spreads expect them to win by a margin over a -7 point spread, while those betting on the underdog expect the Orlando Magic to lose by less than 7 points to cover the spread.

· Pacers win by eight or more points: Pacers bettors win

· Pacers win by precisely 7 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded

· Pacers win by six points or less: Magic bettors win

· Magic win the game: Magic bettors win

Indiana Pacers Moneylines

The Indiana Pacers Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and there is a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.

This is an example of an Indiana Pacers Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

Team Moneyline

Indiana Pacers -275

Orlando Magic +220

Using this example, the Indiana Pacers Moneyline would result as follows:

· Pacers Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Pacers -275 you would need to risk $275.

· Magic Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Orlando Magic +220, you would receive $220 if Orlando wins the game.

Pacers Moneylines and Pacers point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.

Indiana Pacers Over/Under Totals

The Pacers Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of an Indiana Pacers Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic

Total: 225.5

Over odds: -110

Under odds: -110

For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.

Indiana Pacers Parlays

Indiana Pacers Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.

You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. BetPhoenix will increase your Indiana Pacers Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. Pacers parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.

For example, we can combine the Indiana Pacers Point Spread of -7 and the Over of 225.5. We can add other plays for another two games to the Pacers parlay, like the spread on another three games, the Brooklyn Nets -5.5 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Memphis Grizzlies -3.5 against the Sacramento Kings, and the Denver Nuggets -8.5 against the Detroit Pistons, to make a 5-team Pacers Parlay.

Pacers Spread: -7 -110

Pacers Totals: Over 225.5 -110

Nets Spread: -5.5 -110

Grizzlies Spread: -3.5 -110

Warriors Spread: -6.5 -110

This 5-team Pacers Parlay would compound payout odds of +2435, well above 20x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $50 would earn you a payout of $1217.95, with these possible outcomes:

· Pacers Point Spread covers, Pacers over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $1217.95

· Pacers Point Spread pushes, Pacers over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a 4-team parlay: Win $614.17

· Pacers Point Spread covers, Pacers over/under doesn't cover, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$50

· Pacers Point Spread covers, Pacers over/under covers, and any of the other three lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$50

Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

Indiana Pacers Teasers

A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with Pacers teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.

Indiana Pacers Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:

4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

7 points Teaser for 3 Teams

9 points Teaser for 4 Teams

One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.

Pacers Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.

Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 5-team 5-point Pacers teaser would be as follows:

Original Lines vs. Teased lines (with 5 points in your favor)

Pacers Spread: -7 down to -2

Pacers Totals: Over 225.5 down to 220.5

Nets Spread: -5.5 down to -0.5

Grizzlies Spread: -3.5 down +1.5

Warriors Spread: -6.5 down to -1.5

In the hypothetical case of the Pacers winning the game 112-109 (-3/221), the Pacers odds and the Over failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 5-team 5-point Teaser, as they would cover the new -2 point spread and the Over 220.5 points.

Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

Here are some of the most popular Pacers Futures Odds bets you can make before and throughout the regular season. Their current lines are:

Indiana Pacers Regular Season Win Totals: 23.5

Indiana Pacers odds to win the Central Division: +6500

Indiana Pacers odds to win the Eastern Conference: +10000

Indiana Pacers odds to win NBA Championship: +15000

Indiana Pacers Odds To Win the Central Division

Indiana Pacers odds to win the Central Division: +6500

The Indiana Pacers have the second-worst odds of winning the division, only ahead of the Detroit Pistons. They could hope for a play-in spot as a reconstruction team with many changes in the staff and squad. In a division where the Milwaukee Bucks rule and the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be a top-level contender, it will be tough for the Pacers to be up in the standings.

Indiana Pacers Odds To Win the Eastern Conference Championship

Indiana Pacers odds to win the Eastern Conference: +10000

The Pacers would sit almost at the bottom of the barrel if it weren't for the Hornets, the Pistons, and the Magic, the only teams sitting below. The Pacers will need time to continue to develop, which could make this season a painful one for their fans as they grow back into contention.

Indiana Pacers Odds To NBA Championship

Indiana Pacers odds to win NBA Championship: +15000

The Indiana Pacers lead the group of the long underdogs, along with the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, and Washington Wizards, all above +10000, for which the chance of winning the title would be nothing short of a miracle.

Indiana Pacers 2021-2022 Season Recap

The 2021–22 was the Pacers' 55th season as a franchise and 46th in the NBA. They were looking to improve on a 34-38 record from the previous season that, despite earning them second place in the division, left them out of the playoffs after a six-year streak.

After the previous season's letdowns, they hired former coach Rick Carlisle to replace Bjorkgren. They still gave the sensation of being bottomed out. Their regular season record ended at 25-57, their worst since 1985. Everything that didn't work under Bjorkgren didn't work under Carlisle, which prompted a complete teardown. They sent all-star center Domantas Sabonis by the trade deadline to Sacramento in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. With their situation standing at 19-36 before the deal and 6-21 in the last stretch, they were counting more on lottery balls than wins in the season as they focused on a complete rebuild.
