The New York Knicks are a professional NBA basketball team based in New York City, in the borough of Manhattans, NY. The New York Knicks compete in the NBA as a member of the Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division. Along with the Brooklyn Nets, they are one of the two NBA franchises in New York City. The Knicks were established in 1946 as a founder member of the NBA. Their name comes from the term "Knickerbocker," a pseudonym given to descendants of the original Dutch settlers of New Amsterdam that later became New York City. The Knicks and the Boston Celtics are the only original NBA franchises still based in their original home cities.

They host their home games at the famous Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan since 1968. Also known as The Garden, this multi-purpose indoor arena venue is the oldest in the league, shared with the New York Rangers of the NHL. Despite its age, its latest renovation, completed in 2013, has made the Garden a state-of-the-art complex that includes retail stores, theaters, restaurants, and a wide range of entertainment options.

Since their early years, the Knicks were successful and constant championship contenders, making it to the finals three times in the 1950s, losing all of them. Their dominance returned in the late 60s, guided by Hall of Famer coach Red Holzman, achieving two NBA titles in 1970 and 1973. The 80s brought mixed results, including six playoff appearances in the decade but without any finals appearances. Similarly, in the 90s, being an exciting time under coach Pat Riley and superstar center Patrick Ewing, the Knicks again made it to six playoff rounds in the decade and two NBA championship finals but were still unable to win either of them. In the 2000s, the Knicks struggled to reclaim their former glory but, led by forwards Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire still managed to win their first divisional championship in 19 years in the 2012–13 season, eventually losing the Conference semifinals to the Indiana Pacers. After that, they failed to make it to the playoffs until the 2020–21 season, under the new leadership of forward Julius Randle and guard RJ Barrett.

Current president Leon Rose came to the team in 2020, bringing head coach Tom Thibodeau on board. Thibodeau was the former assistant coach for the US National Team and a key figure in the famous 2016 Olympic Gold. He nurtured Julius Randle into a breakout season in 2021, which earned him All-Star status. The 2021 season was their first winning season and first playoff since 2013, with Randle named as NBA Most Improved Player and Thibodeau named NBA Coach of the Year. They lost in the first round to the Atlanta Hawks in five games. Despite retaining much of their old roster, in the 2021 season, the Knicks struggled and finished 11th in the Eastern Conference, missing the playoffs.

How to Bet on the New York Knicks

BetPhoenix.ag not only provides you with the best New York Knicks Vegas odds, but we also provide you with many helpful tools, like this guide, to help our customers increase their chances of winning and introduce you to all the many moneymaking options available when wagering on the NBA, from the preseason through the NBA Finals.

The New York Knicks' past two seasons have been a textbook example of going forward and then going backward. The historic 2020–21 season saw them secure the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, dropping to the 11th seed in the league standings this last season after losing 45 games. The failure that last season represents in their progress could be a motivational factor for this campaign. Can this roster overcome its challenges and be the competitive team they proved to be in 2021?

Placing your New York Knicks bets on BetPhoenix thru the NBA basketball season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, especially if you put in some time and research.

New York Knicks Spreads

Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of a New York Knicks Point Spreads line:

Team Points Spread Odds

New York Knicks -3

Denver Nuggets +3

In this case, the line indicates that the New York Knicks are the favorite to win by a margin of more than three points against the Denver Nuggets. On the other side, the Nuggets are the underdog and can lose by less than a three points margin.

A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.

People betting on the Knicks point spreads expect them to win by a margin over than -3 point spread, while people betting on the underdog are expecting the Denver Nuggets to lose by less than 3 points to cover the spread.

· Knicks win by four or more points: Knicks bettors win

· Knicks win by precisely 3 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded

· Knicks win by two points or less: Nuggets bettors win

· Nuggets win the game: Nuggets bettors win

New York Knicks Moneylines

The New York Knicks Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and there is a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.

This is an example of a New York Knicks Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

Team Moneyline

New York Knicks -130

Denver Nuggets +110

Using this example, the New York Knicks Moneyline would result as follows:

· Knicks Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Knicks -130, you would need to risk $130.

· Nuggets Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Nuggets +110, you would receive $110 if Denver wins the game.

Knicks Moneylines and Knicks point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.

New York Knicks Over/Under Totals

The Knicks Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of a New York Knicks Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

New York Knicks vs. Denver Nuggets

Total: 225.5

Over odds: -110

Under odds: -110

For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.

New York Knicks Parlays

New York Knicks Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.

You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. Betphoenix will increase your New York Knicks Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. Knicks parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.

For example, we can combine the New York Knicks Point Spread of -3 and the Over of 225.5. We can add other plays for another three-game spreads to the Knicks parlay, like the spread on the Chicago Bulls -2.5 against the New Orleans Pelicans, the spread on the Miami Heat -1.5 against the Toronto Raptors, and the spread on the Sacramento Kings -5.5 against the San Antonio Spurs to make a 5-team Knicks Parlay.

Knicks Spread: -3 -110

Knicks Totals: Over 220.5 -110

Bulls Spread: -2.5 -110

Heat Spread: -1.5 -110

Kings Spread: -5.5 -110

This 5-team Knicks Parlay would compound payout odds of +2435, well above 20x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $30 would earn you a payout of $730.77, with these possible outcomes:

· Knicks Point Spread covers, Knicks over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $730.77

· Knicks Point Spread pushes, Knicks over/under covers, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a 4-team parlay: Win $368.50

· Knicks Point Spread covers, Knicks over/under doesn't cover, and the other three lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$30

· Knicks Point Spread covers, Knicks over/under covers, and any of the other three lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$30

Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

New York Knicks Teasers

A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.

New York Knicks Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:

4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

7 points Teaser for 3 Teams

9 points Teaser for 4 Teams

One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.

Knicks Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.

Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 5-team 4.5-point Knicks teaser would be as follows:

Original Lines vs. Teased lines (with 4.5 points in your favor)

Knicks Spread: -3 down to +1.5

Knicks Totals: Over 220.5 down to 216

Bulls Spread: -2.5 down to +2

Heat Spread: -1.5 down to +3

Kings Spread: -5.5 down to -1

In the hypothetical case of the Knicks winning the game 109-108 (-1/217), the Knicks odds and the Over failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 5-team 4.5-point Teaser, as they would cover the new +1 point spread and the Over 216 points.

Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

Here are some of the most popular Ravens Futures Odds bets you can make before and throughout the regular season. Their current lines are:

New York Knicks Regular Season Win Totals: 41.5

New York Knicks odds to win the Atlantic Division: +4500

New York Knicks odds to win the Eastern Conference: +5000

New York Knicks odds to win NBA Championship: +8000

New York Knicks Odds To Win the Atlantic Division

New York Knicks odds to win the Atlantic Division: +500

The New York Knicks have the worst odds to win the division, way behind the rest of the field. The Knicks are sitting in "no man's land" after a disappointing season that wasn't bad enough to get a good draft pick. They still managed to ink guard Jalen Brunson and center Isaiah Hartenstein, which should lessen their struggles in the offense, but their division is the toughest in the league, and their rivals have also done their homework and continue to improve. But as tough as it looks, their chances to make the playoffs are higher than usual.

New York Knicks Odds To Win the Eastern Conference Championship

New York Knicks odds to win the Eastern Conference: +5000

New York seats at the top of the bottom-of-the-barrel group, only ahead of the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, and Washington Wizards in the odds to win the Eastern Conference. Despite a disappointing season that saw them drop from fourth seed to eleventh seed in the conference, there is some hope that the Madison Square Garden will again be the stage for great things.

New York Knicks Odds To NBA Championship

New York Knicks odds to win NBA Championship: +8000

The Knicks chances of winning the Championship are slim, and the odds reflect that by placing them at the top of the bottom group of longshots. For the Knicks to be considered a threat, they will need to prove that their new additions to the roster can produce offensively consistently. They have young talented players that can become a solid base for progress.

New York Knicks 2021-2022 Season Recap

The 2021–22 was the Knicks' 76th season in the NBA. They were looking to improve on their excellent previous season record of 41-31 after coach Tom Thibodeau's first year in the franchise and repeat the trip to the playoffs.

Expectations were high at the beginning of the season for a team that had made significant off-season changes to improve an offense that needed attention. Barrett proved to be a genuine leader as a scorer, but it was clear that the team didn't have the same feel as the successful vibes shown in the previous season. Their regular season record of 37-45 was only four wins short of the previous, and the league had raised the stakes, which meant missing the playoffs as the 11th seed, six games below the Charlotte Hornets.
