The Portland Trail Blazers are a professional NBA basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the NBA as a Western Conference, Northwest Division member. Founded as an expansion team in 1970, they are the only team in the Pacific Northwest after the Seattle Supersonics became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008.
They host their home games at the Moda Center since 1995. This indoor arena is located in the Rose Quarter of Northeast Portland. It also hosts numerous sports events, concerts, and conventions.
They posted six initial losing seasons, experiencing a spectacular turnaround in 1976, not only posting their first winning season but also going all the way to winning the championship. With coach Jack Ramsay, MVP Bill Walton, Maurice Lucas, and Lionel Hollins, they beat the Bulls, the Nuggets, and the Lakers to reach the NBA finals against the 76ers, who they beat after losing the first two games. Portland returned to the playoffs in all following four seasons.
After missing the 1982 playoffs, they drafted Clyde' The Glide' Drexler, who would be the franchise star for the decade, becoming the team's all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and most decorated Blazer since Walton. The Blazers started a twenty-season playoff streak with Drexler but failed to pass the first round. The Blazers famously used their 1984 second pick in the draft to sign Sam Bowie, who would only play four unremarkable seasons with the team, over Michael Jordan, chosen by the Bulls in the very next pick.
In the 1989–90 season, led by Drexler, Jerome Kersey, and Terry Porter, they won their first three conference titles, making it to the finals in 1990, where they lost to the Pistons, and in 1992, where they lost to the Bulls. They also posted the franchise record of 63-19 in the 1991 season. The Blazers returned to their pattern of losing in the first round for the next six seasons, breaking this streak in 1999 and 2000 with two trips to the conference finals.
The 2000s came with some troubles. The Blazers playoff streak ended, posting losing seasons from 2004 to 2008, entering into a rebuilding period. All-Star guard Brandon Roy's arrival brought them back to the postseason for three consecutive years from 2009 to 2011. The Blazers fell out of contention after Roy's retirement. Under coach Terry Stotts they were quick to rebuild for a winning season in 2014, reaching the playoff in eight seasons straight, with their best showings being the Conference Finals in 2019, guided by Lillard and McCollum. Coach Stotts retired after a substandard 2021 season, where they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013. The helm now goes to Chauncey Billups, former assistant to Tyronn Lue in the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Trail Blazers will likely return to the playoffs this season. Last season did not go as planned, breaking a streak of eight straight years playing in the spring, with Lillard sidelined due to injury for most of the season. With Lillard healthy and back on the roster this season, the Blazers are ready to contend now. With a retooled team under new Coach Billups and signings like Jerami Grant, Gary Payton II, Olivier Sarr, Shaedon Sharpe, and Jabari Walker, these revamped Blazers are more than capable of making it to the playoffs and even of having a long run past the first round.
Placing your Portland Trail Blazers bets on BetPhoenix thru the NBA basketball season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, especially if you put in some time and research.
Portland Trail Blazers Spreads
Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of a Portland Trail Blazers Point Spread line:
Team Points Spread Odds
Portland Trail Blazers +6
Brooklyn Nets -6
In this case, the line indicates that the Brooklyn Nets are the favorite to win by a margin of more than six points against the Portland Trail Blazers. On the other side, the Blazers are the underdog and can lose by less than a six-point margin.
A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.
People betting on the Trail Blazers point spreads expect them to lose by a margin under a 6-point spread, while those betting on the favorite expect the Nets to win by more than 6 points to cover the spread.
· Nets win by seven or more points: Nets bettors win
· Nets win by precisely 6 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded
· Nets win by five points or less: Trail Blazers bettors win
· Trail Blazers win the game: Trail Blazers bettors win
Portland Trail Blazers Moneylines
The Portland Trail Blazers Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.
This is an example of a Portland Trail Blazers Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Team Moneyline
Portland Trail Blazers +220
Brooklyn Nets -275
Using this example, the Portland Trail Blazers Moneyline would result as follows:
· Trail Blazers Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Trail Blazers +220, you would receive $220 if Oklahoma City wins the game.
· Nets Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Brooklyn Nets -275, you would need to risk $275.
Trail Blazers Moneylines and Trail Blazers point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.
Portland Trail Blazers Over/Under Totals
The Trail Blazers Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of a Portland Trail Blazers Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Brooklyn Nets
Total: 220.5
Over odds: -110
Under odds: -110
For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.
Portland Trail Blazers Parlays
Portland Trail Blazers Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.
You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. BetPhoenix will increase your Portland Trail Blazers Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. Trail Blazers parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.
For example, we can combine the Portland Trail Blazers Point Spread of +6 and the Over of 220.5. We can add other plays to the Trail Blazers parlay, like the Indiana Pacers -1.5 against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Under 235.5, and also the Oklahoma City Thunder +3.5 against the Chicago Bulls and the Under 235.5, to make a 6-team Trail Blazers Parlay.
Trail Blazers Spread: +2 -110
Trail Blazers Totals: Over 220.5 -110
Pacers Spread: -1.5 -110
Pacers Under: Over 235.5 -110
Thunder Spread: +3.5 -110
Thunder Under: Under 232.5 -110
This 6-team Trail Blazers Parlay would compound payout odds of +4741, well above 40x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $25 would earn you a payout of $1185.32, with these possible outcomes:
· Trail Blazers Point Spread covers, Trail Blazers over/under covers, and the other two lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $1185.32
· Trail Blazers Point Spread pushes, Trail Blazers over/under covers, and the other four lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a Trail Blazers 5-team parlay: Win $608.98
· Trail Blazers Point Spread covers, Trail Blazers over/under doesn't cover, and the other four lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$25
· Trail Blazers Point Spread covers, Trail Blazers over/under covers, and any of the other four lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$25
Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

Portland Trail Blazers Teasers
A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with Trail Blazers teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.
Portland Trail Blazers Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:
4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams
7 points Teaser for 3 Teams
9 points Teaser for 4 Teams
One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.
Trail Blazers Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.
Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 6-team 5-point Trail Blazers teaser would be as follows:
Original Lines vs. Teased lines (with 5 points in your favor)
Trail Blazers Spread: +6 goes to +11
Trail Blazers Totals: Over 220.5 goes to 215.5
Pacers Spread: -1.5 goes to +3.5
Pacers Under: Over 235.5 goes to 230.5
Thunder Spread: +3.5 goes to +10.5
Thunder Under: Under 232.5 goes to 237.5
In the hypothetical case of the Trail Blazers losing the game 113-105 (+8/218), the Trail Blazers odds and the Over failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 6-team 5-point Teaser, as they would cover the new +11 point spread, and the Over 215.5 points.
Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

This is a very competitive division, where in the last seasons the top 3 have ended separated by just a couple of games, which makes this an interesting play.

Portland sits in the third group on the odds of winning the conference, a bit far from the favorites and the challengers, but still considered contenders. While the likes of the Celtics, Warriors, Clippers, and Bucks are the absolute favorites, there is an extended group in the field with substantial chances to challenge their dominance. Add that to the fact that there have been five different champions in the last five seasons, and anything is possible.
Portland Trail Blazers 2021-2022 Season Recap
The 2021–22 was the 52nd season for the Portland Trail Blazers as a franchise in the NBA. They start the season hoping to continue an eight-season winning streak, with eight straight trips to the playoffs, and to improve their postseason performance, as they have regularly fallen on the first round.
The Trail Blazers season ended up being a combination of negative factors, unlike any other season in their history. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, starting with disappointing new signings, organizational turbulence, and significant injuries to key players that turned their playoff hopes into a race for the bottom with the only reward of a better position for the draft.
With Lillard benched for most of the season, they ended with a 27-55 record, their worst since 2006, ending fourth in their division and missing the playoffs.
