The Sacramento Kings are a professional NBA basketball team based in Sacramento, California. The Kings compete in the NBA as a Western Conference, Pacific Division member and is the first and only major sports franchise in Sacramento. The franchise was founded in 1923, in Rochester, New York, as the Rochester Seagrams, which makes them the oldest team in the league. They joined the NBL, precursor to the NBA, in 1942 as the Rochester Royals, relocating in 1957 to Cincinnati as the Royals, then to Kansas City in 1972, taking the name Kings, and finally to Sacramento in 1985.

They host their home games at the Golden 1 Center since its opening in 2016. This indoor venue is located in the Downtown Commons district of California's Capital and is named after Sacramento-based Golden 1 Credit Union, one of the team's main partners.

The Royals were established as a franchise in 1945 in Rochester as a member of the NBL and were an instant success. Thanks to their previous experience, they won the NBL title in its first season in 1946, reaching the finals in the following two seasons. Already in the NBA, led by future Hall of Famers Bob Davies, Bobby Wanzer, and Arnie Risen, won the 1951 championship, beating the New York Knicks. While this strong squad did not win another title, the Royals are considered one of the best teams of the early NBA, reaching the division finals three times by 1954.

The Royals posted their first losing season in 1955, continuing under .500 for the rest of the decade as the older members of the previously successful roster were being replaced by young talents such as Jack Twyman and Maurice Stokes. As the league continued to grow, the Royals found a larger city, moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1957. The Royals added University of Cincinnati's star Oscar Robertson in 1960 as a territorial pick, as the league allowed teams to select college players from their immediate area before the draft. Led by "Big O," the Royals had two consecutive division finals in 1963 and 1964, losing both to the Boston Celtics. Despite adding future Hall of Famer Jerry Lucas, also a territorial pick from Ohio State in 1693, the Royals failed to pass the first round of the playoffs in their three postseason berths in the 1960s.

The struggling Royals were sold in 1971 to a business group from Missouri, and the franchise was relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, for the 1972–73 season. They were required to rename the team, as the city's MLB team used the Royals. Although they counted with All-star star Nate ("Tiny") Archibald in the squad, the team was mediocre, making the playoffs four times in their ten seasons in Kansas City. The Kings were again sold in 1983, and after playing two more seasons in Kansas City, the team moved to Sacramento in 1985.

The Kings posted a losing record in every one of their first 13 seasons in Sacramento, with last or second-to-last-place finishings on ten occasions. The King's luck began to turn under coach Rick Adelman in 1998, as the Kings qualified for the playoffs in eight consecutive seasons through 2006, reaching the conference finals in 2002, their best performance ever, with a squad led by Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic. Since then, Sacramento has failed to post a single winning season, much less return to the playoffs. The franchise has become better known for managerial issues than for its on-court performance.

How to Bet on the Sacramento Kings

BetPhoenix.ag not only provides you with the best Sacramento Kings Vegas odds, but we also provide you with many helpful tools, like this guide, to help our customers increase their chances of winning and introduce you to all the many moneymaking options available when wagering on the NBA, from the preseason through the NBA Finals.

The Sacramento Kings have sixteen straight seasons without a postseason appearance. They just made a big move acquiring two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis at the cost of developing stars Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. It may not be the most obvious decision to make, but a shock to the franchise seems to be what was needed for this team. With Sabonis to guide the Kings, and young talents like Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, De'Aaron Fox, and Keegan Murray, this could be the year that Sacramento returns to the playoffs.

Placing your Sacramento Kings bets on BetPhoenix thru the NBA basketball season can be a profitable and fun endeavor, especially if you put in some time and research.

Sacramento Kings Spreads

Point Spreads are a margin-of-victory bet that indicates an estimated game result. This is an example of a Sacramento Kings Point Spread line:

Team Points Spread Odds

Sacramento Kings +7

Boston Celtics -7

In this case, the line indicates that the Sacramento Kings are the underdog, and can lose by a margin of less than seven five points against the Boston Celtics. On the other side, the Celtics as the underdog and must win by a margin of more than seven points.

A small spread of 4 or fewer points means that the game is expected to be a close matchup, while a large spread of 5 or more points means that the favorite is expected to perform much better than the underdog.

People betting on the Celtics expect them to win by a margin over a -7-point spread, while those betting on the Kings point spreads expect them to lose by less than 7 points to cover the spread.

· Celtics win by eight or more points: Celtics bettors win

· Celtics win by precisely 7 points: The bet is a push, and all wagers are refunded

· Celtics win by six points or less: Kings bettors win

· Kings win the game: Kings bettors win

Sacramento Kings Moneylines

The Sacramento Kings Moneylines bet is the most straightforward option in sports betting. You simply bet on the team that you believe will win the game. There's a negative number for the favorite, or the team considered more likely to win, and a positive number for the underdog, or the team considered more likely to lose.

This is an example of a Sacramento Kings Moneyline as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

Team Moneyline

Sacramento Kings +230

Boston Celtics -275

Using this example, the Sacramento Kings Moneyline would result as follows:

· Kings Moneyline: For every $100 wagered on the Kings +230, you would receive $230 if Sacramento wins the game.

· Celtics Moneyline: If you wagered to win $100 by betting on the Boston Celtics -275, you would need to risk $275.

Kings Moneylines and Kings point spreads use the same information to estimate the relative strength of each team for this particular matchup. The greater the Moneyline numbers indicate a greater favorite or more significant underdog.

Sacramento Kings Over/Under Totals

The Kings Totals bet, or over/under bet, is a wager on the estimated combined score of the game, in which you bet on the total of points scored being higher or lower than the set value. You can bet the over, meaning you predict the score to be above the number, or the under, indicating that you expect the final score to be less than the estimate. The bet can also be a push if the final score equals exactly the estimate, in which case all bets are refunded. This is an example of a Sacramento Kings Totals line as it would be listed in BetPhoenix:

Sacramento Kings vs. Boston Celtics

Total: 238.5

Over odds: -110

Under odds: -110

For every $1.10 risked on either option, you'd win $1.

Sacramento Kings Parlays

Sacramento Kings Parlays is a type of wager where you combine different single bets into one. This is very advantageous as the odds are increased substantially since all bets included as part of the parlay must win for the whole parlay to pay out.

You can combine different types of bets, like point spreads, moneylines, over/under totals, player props, and many other wagers. You can also choose between favorites and underdogs. BetPhoenix will increase your Sacramento Kings Parlays odds and payout as more individual bets are added. Kings parlays allow up to 10 single bets, including cross-sport bets, allowing you, for instance, to pair an NBA game bet with an NFL bet and a Soccer bet.

For example, we can combine the Sacramento Kings Point Spread of +5 and the Under of 238.5. We can add other plays to the Kings parlay, like the Chicago Bulls +2.5 against the Utah Jazz and the Over 234.5, And the Milwaukee Bucks -5.5 against the Dallas Mavericks and the Over 215.5, to make a 6-team Kings Parlay.

Kings Spread: +5 -110

Kings Totals: Under 238.5 -110

Bulls Spread: +2.5 -110

Bulls Totals: Over 234.5 -110

Bucks Spread: -5.5 -110

Bucks Totals: Over 215.5 -110

This 6-team Kings Parlay would compound payout odds of +4741.27, well above 40x times your bet if you wagered on each line separately. For example, risking $15 would earn you a payout of $711.19, with these possible outcomes:

· Kings Point Spread covers, Kings over/under covers, and the other four lines in the parlay cover, so all bets cover: Win $711.19

· Kings Point Spread pushes, Kings over/under covers, and the other four lines in the parlay cover. The push is canceled, and it becomes a Kings 5-team parlay: Win $365.39

· Kings Point Spread covers, Kings over/under doesn't cover, and the other four lines in the parlay cover. Loss: -$15

· Kings Point Spread covers, Kings over/under covers, and any of the other four lines in the parlay fail to cover. Loss: -$15

Any lost pick within the parlay selection constitutes a loss.

Sacramento Kings Teasers

A teaser is a grouping of multiple bets combined into one single bet. The difference between teasers and parlays is that with Kings teasers, the lines are moved in your favor by the number of points given by the teaser.

Sacramento Kings Teasers often start at 4 points and can go up to 5 points. Available Teasers on BetPhoenix include:

4 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

4.5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

5 points Teasers for 2 to 8 Teams

7 points Teaser for 3 Teams

9 points Teaser for 4 Teams

One of the most popular Teasers is the 2-team 4-point that has the same payout as a regular -110 wager.

Kings Teasers are attractive for giving you a significant advantage with a much more favorable line, but that comes at a cost in terms of the payout opportunities.

Based on the previous example, we can tease the same picks of the parlay we made previously in a 6-team 5-point Kings teaser would be as follows:

Original Lines vs. Teased lines (with 5 points in your favor)

Kings Spread: +5 up to +10

Kings Totals: Under 238.5 up to 243.5

Bulls Spread: +2.5 up to +7.5

Bulls Totals: Over 234.5 down to 229.5

Bucks Spread: -5.5 up to -0.5

Bucks Totals: Over 215.5 down to 210.5

In the hypothetical case of the Kings losing the game 123-117 (+6/240), the Kings odds and the Over failed to cover the original point spreads but would win on the 6-team 5-point Teaser, as they would cover the new +10 point spread, and the Under 243.5 points.

Note that on teasers, a push is considered a loss.

Here are some of the most popular Kings Futures Odds bets you can make before and throughout the regular season. Their current lines are:

Sacramento Kings Regular Season Win Totals: 36.5

Sacramento Kings odds to win the Pacific Division: +1300

Sacramento Kings odds to win the Western Conference: +2800

Sacramento Kings odds to win NBA Championship: +6000

Sacramento Kings Odds To Win the Pacific Division

Sacramento Kings odds to win the Pacific Division: +1300

The Sacramento Kings are long underdogs to win their division. They sit only ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and well behind the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Clippers. Even with Sabonis, Fox, Mitchel, and Barnes operating at 100%, this is a highly competitive division, and their chances to win it are slim to none.

Sacramento Kings Odds To Win the Western Conference Championship

Sacramento Kings odds to win the Western Conference: +2800

Similar to the divisional situation, Sacramento sits far behind the favorites to win the conference, ahead of the bottom of the pack in the Houston Rockets, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the San Antonio Spurs, in a no man's land behind the challengers in the group. They are not good enough to be in the top group, and they won't be bad enough to be in the top of the draft, but there is a slight chance they could get into the playoffs, and with men like Sabonis on your side, things can change.

Sacramento Kings Odds To NBA Championship

Sacramento Kings odds to win NBA Championship: +6000

The Sacramento Kings are listed right in the middle of the 30-team list in the odds to win the championship, comfortably far from the bottom but nowhere near the top, in the chasm of teams that can edge it out to make the playoffs but without any decent possibility to challenge the beasts at the top.

Sacramento Kings 2021-2022 Season Recap

The 2021–22 was the 77th season for the Sacramento Kings as a franchise and their 38th in Sacramento. They start the season after missing the playoffs for fifteen seasons straight, finishing with a 31-41 record that left them dead last in the division and 12th out of 15 in the conference.

The Kings started the season with a 6-11 record, which prompter the firing of head coach Luke Walton, replaced by Alvin Gentry. After finishing with a 30-52 record, they repeated their previous season standing, ending last in the division and 12th in the conference, missing the playoffs for the 16th season straight, in the longest postseason drought in NBA history.

Despite the streaks and number, the Kings have looked promising, like a team on the rise, but have yet to fulfill these expectations. The bright side of this team is the progression De'Aaron Fox has been showing, as this 23-year-old guard was fantastic the whole season. Tyrese Haliburton also showed sparks in his first season. The Kings were also the worst-rated defense in the league. Under a new coach, this team has a lot of burning questions on their lap to determine a way forward.
