Baseball Betting Rules

BetPhoenix Baseball Betting Rules

The information supplied by the official leagues' score provider or the official website of the relevant competition will be used to settle all bets. If statistics from these sources are not available, or there is significant evidence to indicate that the official score provider or official website is incorrect, independent evidence from multiple sources will be used to determine the settlement of bets.

Games must go 8½ innings:

  • All full game bets are official after 8½ innings if the home team is ahead, or after 9 full innings if the visiting team is ahead. This includes moneyline, total runs (over/under), and Run Line bets.
  • Prior to 2020, moneyline bets would have action after 5 full innings of play (4½ if the home team was winning).
  • If a game goes past nine innings and not finished (i.e., suspended, curfew, rain delay, etc.), there is action on game, total, and run line wagers.
  • The game must be played on the scheduled date and site to have action. If a game has been postponed or canceled before its due start time, all bets are No Action.

Double Headers:

  • In 2020 the MLB has approved 7-inning doubleheaders to be played. With these, games are official after 7 innings of play (6½ innings if the home team is ahead). This includes moneyline, total runs (over/under), and Run Line bets.

Baseball 1st 5 Innings:

  • For betting purposes, the first half of a baseball game is counted from the start of the game until the end of the 5th inning.
  • All first-half bets will have action once the game reaches 5 innings completed (4½ if the home team is winning).

Pitcher Selection Baseball:

  • Every baseball line except for the Full Game Money Line is ALWAYS LISTED PITCHERS.

You can place a bet on the full game conditional to:

  • Action: Team against another team, regardless of the starting pitcher. "Action" bets adjust to the new opening line with the new pitcher, and the risk remains the same. A pitcher is considered a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.
  • One Specified Pitcher: A wager on a specific pitcher can be the pitcher for the same team the customer’s betting, or the other team’s pitcher.
  • Listed Pitchers: A wager that specifies both starting pitchers as advertised. If the starting pitchers are not the ones listed on our betting display board or your ticket, your bet grades as "no action."

Las Vegas Rules apply for any rules not mentioned here.
